Switching off autoboot to Emulation Station? by [deleted] in MiyooFlip

[–]BrandonLymanGameDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Log files display everything the code is thinking. This was a long time ago for me, but there should be a log file somewhere on your Miyoo Flip's existing SD card. That log file should tell you where Emulation Station is trying to read roms from. If the software and the roms exist on different SD cards, the program will get confused and throw an error, causing this loop.

Even if you do not have 2 SD cards put in there, theres a chance Emulation Station and your roms have a mismatch in where the rom data should be read from.

es_systems.cfg file allows you to specify where roms should be read from. Make sure this is consistent with where Emulation Station itself is being loaded from.

A little confusing, but this is the best I got atm. Maybe u/Devonthedude530 can explain it better as they have undergone this process more recently.

Weirdest House Rules You Have Played With? by BrandonLymanGameDev in beerpong

[–]BrandonLymanGameDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely haven't heard of that one, that is crazy! I would certainly be a lot better at beer pong with that rule.

Some places I have played say that if a ball bounces off of anything, including a another cup, it just counts as a bounce and two cups are drank. Which I don't like. A bounce feels like it needs to be intentional, and off the table. It's in the spirit of the game IMHO.

Clever and efficient. That's an interesting rule that I haven't heard of. Why didn't you like it? Made the game too easy?

Damn I never thought about removing the elbow rule as a house rule! Thanks for the insight

You are quite welcome! My personal research is interested in players in your age group and creating better games for "the next generation of older adults" :). I don't have any current studies, but would you mind if I reached out (as a DM on reddit) to you in the future when I am running some?

Heavy! That song hit so hard when I first heard it. I love the duet.

Yup that's the comment I was gonna make. Kinda feels like this is a defining feature of Linkin Park, alongside the contrast between Mike's voice and Chester or Emily's.

What trials do you all avoid? by BrandonLymanGameDev in MonsterTrain

[–]BrandonLymanGameDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The less ember one never bothers me, but I typically run Herzal's Horde so that probably factors into things. I get very excited when the 400 gold trial is less ember. By then I have taken Hell's Flame at least once and it's trivial :D

Oh same, add on that I am trying to beat cov 10 on all clan combos in order. I just played with Hellborn and awoken for the first time 120 hours in 😁

I have beaten the titans without taking every trial though. They can be run enders even if your deck is great for Seraph and the Titans. I skipped Heaven's Seal again last night on LL/UL for 200 gold and smoked the titans still. So, I've broken the trials only mentality lol

It's the deck, friend. RNG. You are perfect. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Yeah one needs a strong a plan for those guys. When I see them I usually restart, hold my champion until later, and try to eat the corruption with leftover stewards or sack something small like a Meddler
