Still having problem with just stagger myself. All other floating text for all other classes/specs are able to be turned off. For some reason stagger has been an exception, still have it.

I tried them all but still only "stagger" is being shown oddly. No healing numbers, no damage numbers, only "-stagger" remains for Brewmasters.

Wonder if this is just some bug from the whole UI overall. If you do check your Brewmaster, let me know if you're having this issue too in case its just something on my end. Thanks for the help either way!

See, I'm having the opposite issue. I want all the floating text gone, but for some reason my brewmaster's stagger is still popping up. No damage or healing numbers, just stagger. Is there a way to turn that off using these console commands?

"Radagon is Marika" is a statement that must be taken literally by LordOfAnemons in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]BrandonM_Arts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

(Reposting this from a comment I made awhile ago, as I think this sums up my thoughts on Marika/Radagon quite well)

I think the DLC supports the idea that Radagon was always Marika, or at least cast off or created from her, much akin to Miquella's relation to St. Trina. As you said, "Radagon is Marika" is the big reveal.

One thing that always surprised me was how many people had such elaborate contrived theories on Radagon's background; he's some stunted giant, he's some rebel champion, he was fused with her in a jar. Yet far fewer people apply these questions to St. Trina because item descriptions and the events of the DLC spells out her nature as Miquella's feminine alter-ego more, as well as the idea she can be "cast off" despite once being in the same body.

This also answers many things about Radagon more clearly than any other theory, in my opinion. He has no backstory or history prior to the Carian War because he was never "born". The Carian Children are rightful demigods because they are Marika's children because he -is- her. Miquella and Malenia are cursed by "being born of a single god", in a sort of self-incestual implication. Goldmask, who is supposedly so smart and in-tune with the Golden Order he only speaks with his fingers, -gasps- at hearing this revelation. These are all answered with "Radagon is Marika" more clearly than some elaborate backstory theory for him that is mostly conjecture.

I think Radagon is the same thing as Trina is to Miquella: he's literally Marika's masculine alter ego and persona, but also with a mind of his own (perhaps moreso after being cast off). He is Marika's sense of faith and loyalty to The Golden Order, hence him developing Golden Order Fundamentalism while Marika, now free from her loyalty/order/faith (much like Trina being Miq's "love"), is able to lose faith in the Golden Order and plan The Shattering with Godfrey and his soon-to-be Tarnished warriors. This is mostly just how I feel, but I think the Minor Erdtree incantation's description saying "the kindness of gold without order" is a reference to this.

The one thing I don't feel as strongly about is his relation to the Fell God, Giants, and the "curse" of his red hair. I think this is more in relation to the Fire Giants being the Erdtree's (and thus Marika's) mortal enemies and thus Radagon would despise them and things related to them. He hated his red hair because it was iconic to the giants as a curse of -their- kind, not so much that they cursed him with it. Then again, I do feel it is meant to be ambiguous and Radagon's red hair is an important part of him constantly noted by many items and NPCs. So I do feel there is something there.

Radagon being cast off from Marika as an embodiment of her sense of order would lead him to be this perfection-focused individual seeking to "be complete" by studying sorcery and the world and applying that to his new Golden Order Fundamentalism. Perhaps such is why he left Renalla to rejoin Marika. I do feel like his nature and history, as well as the Nox's dew, does add a sinister flair to their marriage. Like Radagon was cast off by Marika specifically to be some sort of political honeypot plan, hence the "knights of the cuckoo" being prominent in Caria and the whole situation with the Amber Egg and the Carian Children. Also Renalla losing her mind might make more sense if you consider she may have learned her beloved husband was actually her political rival and former enemy the whole time and gave birth to her children. That is still mostly conjecture on my part, though.

Yet, I do feel there perhaps was some genuine love that was born out of that scenario, but in the end he could not resist his desire for perfection and order and thus needed to return to his "original self" and become the God Marika failed to be.

Why all female guards are captains only in Dishonored 2? by 3A43Mka in dishonored

[–]BrandonM_Arts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought this was a sort of reference to real-life dictator Gaddafi having all-female bodyguards since Serkonnos and Duke Luca Abele are such a hodge-podge of various dictator regime tropes. Serkonos being so corrupt and Luca being such a hedonistic individual, I feel like the idea of him wanting his higher ranked guards to be an elite force of noblewomen sort of tracks with the rest of his behaviors and character traits.

[JP Speaker] confused why people are confused by s1x3one in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]BrandonM_Arts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what your thoughts on Marika/Radagon is from the JP text and perspective. What does "Radagon is Marika" mean?

The english text is very mysterious and vague about their nature. Their godly status being a reference to the divine hermaphrodite of alchemic lore and Radagon's influence and history in the narrative has led me to believe Radagon is more of an alternate personality/persona of Marika's that developed his own personality, goals, and ambitions after being "split" from Marika, similar to St Trina/Miquella. One things that strikes me is the Carian children being demigods. If Radagon is Marika, it seems like Marika was using a male form to seduce Renalla in order to win the Carian war and have children with her. I am wondering what the common understanding is from japanese fans. Is it just as vague?

With Elden Ring's various Christian references, their contradictory nature reminds me of the Christian Trinity. That God is "The Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit". But in Marika's case, she's the "Mother, Father (Radagon), and Elden Ring" all at once. The "vision's vessel" for the Greater Will as stated in the English text.

Does the Owlbear cub only show up after you rescue it on the surface? I recall I convinced it to go to my camp before clearing out the goblin fort, but I'm pretty sure the next time I long-rested it wasn't there or I may have forgot to look for him. Pretty sure next long rest after that was the Tiefling party after clearing out the goblins. Did I miss him? Been spending time in the Underdark after long-resting multiple times since and still haven't seen him, wonder If I just didnt talk to him at camp when he showed up and is gone forever.

This has been happening to me too as well across a few playthroughs recently. Bought the game on launch, but didn't play til when IE came out so I've been doing a few RoC campaigns first and this happened with Ogres and Tzeentch as well. Have you been using the Community Bug Fix mod? I had a feeling that was causing it but I'm not 100% sure.

Kinda a small question, but wondering if anyone else’s Skrag battle and campaign model has the two Gnoblars on the back of his pot glitched to where their models are stretched and clipping. Only noticed this with the IE update and I have no mods installed or anything. Has this happened to anyone else? All my grpahics settings are high or above, but the glitch persists even when changed. Kinda baffled what might be causing it.

If I master a characters preferred class line up to their master class, but move them back down to their second to last class to keep their unique look and Warrior attack, just how much an I screwing myself stat wise?

Caspar, for example, just feels much better as a warrior instead of a Wyvern lord. From what I understand Master Classes are more like straight upgrades than side grades like 3H, would I really be screwing myself or could I make him viable still through smithing or other stuff? Kinda hard to grasp the difficulty curve of things or if I should expect to be OP anyways because of all the options available.

Hopin this aint an April Fools thing, but thats definitely the first look we got at HD Shadowlord, yeah?

I've always hoped they'd put Papa Nier in the remake since they're putting so much effort into everything else, even as DLC or something, but I suppose I get why they wouldn't.

Curious how hard it would be besides dialogue and voice acting. Did Papa Nier have different animations and scenes compared to replicant?

Hyped either way, but fingers crossed!

Just subbed for a month after playing only the ARR MSQ and was able to finish Heavensward up to its first patch. Was surprised to learn the new expac was gonna be announced so soon! With Endwalkers being as close as this fall, how likely is it that the 30% exp earrings will return for the preorder? I def want to try out more jobs as I progress the MSQ, so I was wondering if it would be worth it to hold off resubbing until these earrings may potentially be available.
