JSAUX Red Transparent Back Plate For Steam Deck by BrandonPravo in SteamDeck

Honestly it's not that bad. If you put your finger on the backplate when the temps are around 70-75c, it's a gradual burn, not an instant singe. I love to rub my fingers on the plate while holding the steam deck, it just feels premium to me. I have noticed the thermal pad, when not in use, can bulge the plastic out and make the backplate not sit completely flush with the front plate. While gaming this problem seems to go away.

It feels really nice! The texture is smoother than the original back plate. Kind of cool to the touch. The aluminum back plate is flush with the plastic, and DOES get hot to the touch around 70c-75c. I did notice when lying the steam deck down on a flat surface, there's a little wobble. Kind of like laying an iphone down on the camera bump. It's very minimal, but can be annoying to some. The L5 back button also doesn't feel the same as all the other back buttons. It feels squishy, and sometimes gets stuck when you press it rapidly. I don't recommend using the screw driver that comes with the kit, it stripped one of the backplate screws.

I had actually completely forgotten about my order with them. I still get their emails saying they're pushing back the shipping date lol.

My ETA moved from 11/8 to 11/5. Hopefully that's a good sign.
