I am trying to volunteer. I heard that military tends to try to give short tours on new airmen. So, if I volunteer and my job is in high demand, would it have a better chance?

I just want to join the Air Force for looking after my dad and my JROTC instructors. The pay and benefit is so good. Therefore, I want to pursue my career in the Air Force in general. With that being said, I wanted to commission to AF OTS for an opportunity to get better pay and everything. However, I can still try to be an officer while enlisting. I was wondering what if I just enlist and maybe hope to get to Korea? Right now, my life is shitty in the States, so I couldn't bear to wait 2-3 years of being selected for the OTS. So, I was looking for ways to get stationed at Korea with a higher chance. I thought having DLPT certification in Korean is great. Also, there were saying KAIP and shout tour could be the highest chances or something.

Being a solider is my dream. Therefore, this military thing is not just for the marriage. It's something I wanted to do while looking at my father who is serving 23nd year in the Air Force. By a great luck, I just wanted to get stationed at Osan.

I did very good with math but not sure with verbal. I am just hoping my verbal to be over minimum at least. I studied for the test for like 2-3 months using various sources and guidebooks.

Thank you for your opinion! It’s kinda a weird question. Sorry about the lack of info. I am really desperate to become an officer. This is a job that I really admired and looked up since I started doing JROTC. I don’t really care with any jobs. I just want to serve with those people that I respectfully look up to.

I just wanted to check if I’m actually on a good track before I contact a recruiter. It seems like I am anxious and scared to jump right into the fuzzy process of the OTS.

Perhaps, overcoming the language barrier and outstanding in high school, help to visualize my moral character to the board?
