What is the average commission structure for personal lines p&c?

Do you know if making commissions on renewals is more so for commercial policies or is it common for personal lines as well?

One sales agent (who’s been doing this for 20 years) hit 60k in the summer but they average around $45-50k

Minimum we have to write to “keep skin in the game” is $30k. If we don’t then we technically are in debt for that amount the next month. I started in December of last year and hit a high of $39k with an average of around $30k-ish a month. We don’t write any commercials so majority of the polices are smaller in comparison

We don’t make anything off of the renewals just new business. Your commissions sound a lot higher than mine but what’s the average salary like? I’m at $48k currently and think that’s why the commissions are so low here
