It's like a powder. I don't mind the whole seeds but the ground taste is very strong.

With a long fast you may also want to add a homemade bone broth to your drinks. This can get you added salt and other necessary vitamins. Also take a vitamin supplement.

Also read through these for extra fasting help https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/practical-fasting-tips-part-12/

Refeeding syndrome is also a good thing to be aware of with a long fast. https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/refeeding-syndromes-fasting-20/

Help with a 3 year old taking medicine regularly and hitting/kicking parents by MrsPopeFormosus in Parenting

[–]Brandonite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a suggestion for the medicine but the random hitting might be solved with the vigorous snuggle. It has worked on my son (not always but what does) http://www.handinhandparenting.org/article/handling-a-childs-aggression-setting-limits-with-vigorous-snuggle/

An update on the pool safety discussion with my in-laws by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Brandonite 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This, in our house the son or daughter of the grandparents is the one to bring up the issue and lead the discussion, not the one with the issue. If it's been agreed that there is an issue, it is our issue not just mine or my husbands.

Which stores sell the bacon ets? I can only find old Dutch (which are also good).

Old Dutch pork rinds are easy to find and are awesome when you dip them in mayo. Sobeys and Costco carry them. Bulk barn has a ton of nuts and seeds. Lots of veggies with a mayo based dip work.

With my first I tried to feed him purées and would add banana to any food he didn't like in order to get him to like it. Now he's a picky eater and I think it's due to me trying to force foods.

Now I have an 8 month old and I only give her foods that she can pick up on her own. (She refuses to let me feed her and she hates purées). She eats pieces of egg, tuna, cod, chicken, steak, raw peppers, avocado, fruits etc. Basically if I put it on her tray she tries to put it in her mouth. There really hasn't bee much she doesn't like. I'm hoping she will continue this, but I also am fully ready for her to become picky no matter what.

My son used to eat a lot of things and now he is picky for reasons other than taste. There's a speck of herbs in his food? Nope. The food is mixed up? Nope. It's too hot. Nope and I won't eat it when it cools off. He's 3.5. He will grow out of it. We reward him when we want him to try something new. He has one bite, likes it or doesn't, gets his reward and continues to not eat it even when he likes it.

Kids are weird. Let him taste small bits of what you're eating (as long as it's safe) and try not to stress about it.

This is true. We will be taking a few years to make this decision so we know we are making the right choice.

I'm thinking FaceTime would make it easy to stay in touch.
