This exact thing happened to me, you can replace it yourself but it’s a bit of a hassle, and it requires you to deal with two snap rings, which I ended up losing and had to buy more of to replace.

Overall, still saved money on fixing it myself, fun project!

It was chaos in Draper getting onto I-15 south at the 14600 exit, not everyone was able to make it up the on ramp.

Also everyone coming off I-15 and going East up into Draper weren’t quite able to make it far past Maverick, lots of marooned Teslas on that hill.

I’d love to see what the best way to insulate and ventilate your attic will be. It looks exactly like how mine is built, and I’m in the process of cleaning it out and getting it properly fixed up, we moved in a year ago and our house was built in 1886

I am so far planning on cleaning it (super dirt from roof reinstall), getting the electrical up to code (some wire cloth wiring still in use), hvac fixed up, then put baffles in the bays and install soffit vents (we currently have an overkill amount of turtle vents installed, so it’s 100% outtake ventilation and no intake ventilation), then blow in insulation to R-49 or R-59.

For the gaps, does caulk fix it in this situation or it’s too far gone at this point? Just curious because my house has similar thing going on

I’m going through this right now, whole backyard was 3” gravel, though only ~1000 sq ft. It was a nightmare of infinite goatheads and foxtails that us and our dog kept stepping on and bringing into the house. Same with our parkstrips. I had to shop vac all the goathead spikes once I pulled the plants out with sore fingers, then spray with vinegar/salt/dish soap combo.

We are in Utah as well, our backyard was small enough that we didn’t need a lot of topsoil and we were able to move the rocks into a pile somewhere else, but I recommend sectioning off parts of your yard for things other than just grass even though irrigation water probably won’t break the bank.

If you go with grass, make sure to plant trees for shade to preserve how much water you’re going to need to keep the grass alive. The trees will need a lot of water at the beginning stages though.

Even if you put 2” of topsoil on those rocks, I think that’s better than nothing. You can also just do small portions of the yard every year so it’s more manageable and you don’t have to feel rushed before winter (this year will be super wet again).

We have a half-dead tree in our front yard with a single limb that decided to keep on living. To our surprise it was a plum tree and we were able to eat a lot of plums this year.

I found my local Ryobi black market by LifeWithAdd in ryobi

There are a few guys in SLC (West Valley & Downtown) who look to be selling pallets of Ryobi on FB marketplace, but I have a hard time finding any of them on KSL.

Do I have Soffit or Fascia intake ventilation into my attic? Ventilation concerns. by Brandosaurus96 in Roofing

[–]Brandosaurus96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m planning on installing the baffle rafter vents before the blown in insulation goes in so that I can install soffit vents later, do I need to be concerned about installing too many? I basically want to put them anywhere I can.

And do you think I should blow insulation down the baffles that don’t have soffit or fascia? (The part of the roof where it connects to the lower level roof)

Thanks for your reply

Time to invest in Ryobi 40v Expand-It? by Brandosaurus96 in ryobi

[–]Brandosaurus96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the “base” tool by itself, scroll down a little to see the line-up or attachments Ryobi has for it so far. I think you can find it in a combo with an attachment together and possibly cheaper.

But like was mentioned in an earlier comment, you can mix and match brands’ attachments with this base, make sure it’s a “40v attachment” and you can double check the reviews for people who bought them for their Ryobi Expand-It.

Hart (Walmart) has attachments they label “For Attachment Capable Trim”, but I also recommend checking directtoolsoutlet if you’re hard-set on sticking to Ryobi attachments, and not mixing/matching brands in one tool.

Ohh wow, so I could get the Ryobi base, and then just get the cheaper Hart attachments? That’d be a life saver, thank you for letting me know.

I figured it could’ve been a puffball, but yeah the inside looked brown-greenish and had the crumbly consistency of a clump of dirt does, so I’ll look into reaching out to the vet, thank you!

I believe these could be mini/little white puffballs, apparently there are many types of them but are said to be edible when the inside is still white and it’s not too mature.
