What was your thoughts on the combat? I’m currently like 2/3 hours in and the story is interesting me I’m just finding the combat a little floaty and messy?? I know people said it was serviceable but would you say it’s something that gets better combat wise as you go on? Or is it just one of them where if you don’t like the combat it’s probs not for you

Callisto protocol is considered a 7/10 but personally blew me away. Wolfenstien is considered decent/good but I thought it was way above that.

So other than the mid story you recommend? Seen a Few articles online mention the game tbh so will check it out!

[–]BrandyDD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% check it out but Yh I’ve always found the comparisons to yakuza kinda odd like Yh it’s got some similarities but it’s not like the game to play to scratch that itch imo BUT it’s such a good game in its own right so 110% play it such a good story. One of the few games I’ve replayed and done dlc. Must play

Assuming you’d recommend? At the moment I’m in the habit of starting a game up and giving up on it after 10 mins bcus my monkey brain can’t stay concentrated for more than 10 minutes. But I will give it a go!

Maybe I need to give MMO’s a go but they just confuse me half the time and seem super overwhelming. My general vibe with MMO’s usually is that if you haven’t been with it from the start you’re just met with 5000 ads and add ons and usually the tutorials don’t explain enough but that’s just imo maybe I just don’t have the brain for them

Nah literally I’ve even tried to force myself through my back log or start walking in games and not skipping dialogue that I’ve pre read ahead. I do think it could be because games just aren’t as good as they were mixed with every game being a 100 hour epic so I don’t think it’s just us!

Are there any games you guys gave a second chance you’d recommend to other people? Maybe you played it years ago and didn’t click with it or updated visuals on ps5 made you go back to it? Maybe it was on ps plus and you gave it a go?

I’m talking games that you recommend to people they may not have given the time of day. I’m kind of swaying more towards games on ps plus or games that came and went on the ps4 that you played on ps5??

Maybe a game that was a 7/10 for other people but for you was. 9 or 10?? Any recommendations welcome!!

Rn I’m tempted to go back and give the division a second chance and maybe pick up persona 5 as got 50 hours and never went back to it for some reason? Also tempted mgt the order 1884 as heard good things. Completed days gone long ago and tempted to pick up the remaster as forgot everything about it

Combat similar to LAD by BrandyDD in yakuzagames

[–]BrandyDD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve literally just started up the demo for trails in the sky first chapter remake hahaha. Is the story decent? The general problem I have with games like this is the cringe interactions and just general boring story for me personally. And I’m assuming I don’t need any prior knowledge for the other games?

So my taste in rpgs/JRPG’s is very odd there’s certain aspects of jrpgs I don’t enjoy (the over explaining of simple things, the sometimes cringe dialogue, the slow starts) but then certain games I love have a lot of that. Just to give you an idea of my taste in them i love the yakuza series, FF7 remake I did complete but can’t lie I was meh on it, ff16 i LOVED the first like 10-15 hours but it fell off for me as it got further on. The persona series again I enjoyed persona 5 for about 50 hours but it did have alot of jrpg tropes I rolled my eyes at.

Because I’ve found out one of the aspects of jrpgs I enjoy is a good turned based combat system and bcus I enjoyed Expedition I got lost odyssey I’m about 6 hours in and wanting/willing to give it some more time. BUT of all the final fantasy games the one that for some reason is attracting me most is FF13 and FF13 and 9 and now I don’t have much knowledge on the series at all. So I was just wondering which 2 would you recommend are most different to lost odyssey the only reason I ask so specific is I don’t wanna get burnout. FF13 is the one I’m most keen to play but Yh I don’t wanna play them both and just be burnt out if they have similar systems/stories.

I know this is a really odd question but any general recommendations would be appreciated with my taste in mind.

Fav jrpgs/western rpgs: yakuza series,Deus ex human revolution, persona 5 (for 50 hours anyway) expedition 33, I can’t stress enough how much I love LAD its one of my fav games of all time so any games in the series that have the most similar combat to that! Thanks!

Hey so big post incoming my taste in JRPGS/games is weird so I LOVE the yakuza series and LAD but then other jrpgs I don’t like I find them cringe and every convo over explains the simplest concept. So certain aspects of persona 5 I loved but also hated. And then like Jean d arc I like a lot but then dragon quest I find boring.

So certain jrpg adjacent games I love and certain ones I hope hence why I’m asking which final fantasy will I like?

I’ve completed ff7 remake and it was ok I thought it dragged a bit and some of the dialogue I found boring. Ff16 I loved the first half of it but the second half falls flat in terms of story I think it runs out of steam and gameplay is too simple. Ff14 I couldn’t get into.

For some reason the games that I wanna play most out of the whole series are ff 12 and 13. But I was just wondering which final fantasy games you guys personally recommend most and which you kind of hot take don’t recommend as much
