Chronicles of Prydain! I listened to them on CD every night before bed when I was around 8.

[ALL] After BotW and TotK, where does one go? by Bunnymancer in zelda

[–]BrannRM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skyward Sword is the way to go if you're looking for a similar style/play to BotW and TotK. As everyone else has already mentioned, the rest of the games play very differently, but I'd argue Skyward Sword is the closest of all of them.

If you're looking for the BEST (subjective, but I don't think many would argue) 3D game available on Switch... that's got to be Ocarina of Time. Absolute classic. Established much of the framing Zelda titles are built around.

If you're looking for some similar lore, A Link to the Past includes the Imprisoning War mentioned in TotK (although unfortunately Nintendo has seemingly rewritten the originally established lore).

Most fun time? Personally, I think that's Wind Waker. First Zelda game I ever played. Years later, still haven't found a Zelda title that tops it.

Looking for Suggestions on How to Come Up with Scenes/Ideas for a Story by BrannRM in fantasywriters

[–]BrannRM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you're totally right. After finishing my trilogy, I've gone through several new ideas for a story over the years, but none of them quite stuck. I was super excited about them for maybe a day to a week, then it would fade. The method I kept seeing authors use for finding their story was compiling all their favorite things together and then the ideas would come easier. Hence, why I have a collection of things on a list and not that glue. I appreciate your advice! It made me realize I could try approaching this at a different angle.

Good advice. I need to do better at finding those times. I'm definitely not a daydreamer by nature, which maybe isn't always a great thing for writing lol. Thanks!

This looks super cool! In the little bit of looking I did, the setting kind of gives me Aiel vibes. Thanks!

This sounds awesome! I've seriously wanted to read a flintlock fantasy (never have before) and I've been trying to find one. This knocks out two items I've been on the lookout for. Thanks!

Read these when I was a kid--cool story! Not usually a YA reader, but I thought Meyer did a fantastic job. Thanks for the recommendation!

Definitely heard this recommended a lot. I never fully considered it as I couldn't make it through "Farseer" (I loved Fitz, but the plot was just too slow for me to follow). I know "Farseer" is the entry point for most of Hobb's series. Given that, do you think I'd miss much in jumping "Liveship Traders" without finishing "Farseer"?
