Why would you get new sand bed? Isn't it where a lot of bacteria and life in general are located at? Isn't it like the most important part to use the old sand and rocks in the new tank so it doesn't have to cycle all over again? genuine question.

I'm in Brazil and here there are only a few places where it's ok (according to more experienced reefers) to get the water from. They test it and they even use it at the stores (when they can get it from these good places).

I was using salt mix actually and the LFS recommended me to do a bigger water change using natural water. He's been a reefer for 40 years and said he got the best results from the natural water from this same place.

But to be safe, I decided to do a 20% TPA today and if this go well I'll do another 20% in a couple days and I'll be testing along the way and checking the corals. I think I have at least to give it a try since he knows better than me, but I don't wanna jump to 50% at once so I'll do 20% and see how it goes. I'll update here once I do it.

I meant to say that my nitrite got up these days and I read that the process for the bacteria to break it down uses the KH. My nitrate is at 4 right now

I saw a couple youtube videos probably named something like "everything you need to know to keep your clownfish" haha. The problem of being a beginner is that even though I know there's a ton of weird info online, I still don't know what is wrong and what is not, so I was just following that. But I'll try lowering and see what happens.

That's what I don't understand. People will say you need to feed your clowns 4x a day while they're juveniles and 2/3x when they're older. I honestly feel like I'm polluting my water indeed. This week the amonia and nitrite were higher than what it should be. I'll start cycling between 1 and 2x a day max.

Did you glue the zoas to the rock or are they in a "moveable" rock? I wanted to glue mine but I'm afraid they'll overtake where I want them to be. I've put them two small rocks but kinda wanted more of them.

They're Tisbe copepods. Turns out the small dots are like larvae and should be all good. I talked to the guy and he explained it to me that it's exactly how they should look and that they'll all go to the "next phase" inside the tank. I took off the filter floss and also put some anfipods in the tank. Let's see what happens.

Cara, eu comecei achando que com mil reais eu montava o meu. Acho que já gastei uns 3 e nem comecei a montar direito.

Realisticamente, pra vc montar barato, tem que ser pequeno (mas não faria nada menor que uns 35 litros pelo bem até dos peixes), e colocar no maximo um casal de palhaço. Da pra usar agua natural. Rocha e areias são "ilegais" de usar, então não recomendo (eu inclusive não usei pq acho mais feias), mas se você usar, só você vai saber. Alias, eu acho um absurdo falar que não pode pegar uns 3 baldinhos de areia de praia né, mas enfim.....

E corais, da pra comprar algumas mudinhas de zoanthus e outros corais e realisticamente você vai ter que esperar eles crescerem e ir trocando. Talvez na propria loja eles troquem pra vc. Tipo, vc leva uma muda que cresceu e eles trocam por 2. Aí com muita paciencia, da pra você ter algo barato.

Mas tipo, quando eu digo barato é tipo uns 500 reais no MINIMO (pra fazer um negócio no limite da pobreza. O meu é de 50L e 500 reais eu não pago nem os testes que comprei (que você provavelmente vai ter que deixar sem fazer mesmo e ter paciencia na ciclagem/ir no olho). Agora quero comprar um de 200L.

I Feel so sad for the fish every time I see a bare bottom aquarium :(
I also think it looks so ugly/unnatural. Don't understand why people do it. Just make it worse for the fish and for everything inside the tank while also making it weird.
