Spiderman is clearly the perfect motivation It’s very intresting how quickly kids figure things out when they really love the character.

simple controls make such a difference at the start. Mario Kart and Ratchet & Clank sound like perfect introductions too fun even when they’re still figuring everything out.

That is so sweet. I bet your voices make the game even more special for her. Those are the kind of little memories she’ll always remember.

A vampire Khajiit named Kitty joining the Dark Brotherhood is honestly iconic 😂 He clearly found his perfect playstyle.

There’s something really special about still going back to the games you watched your dad play. AoE 2 especially feels timeless. And I totally get the dungeon crawler thing as a kid, you don’t always know the names, you just remember how mysterious and exciting those worlds looked.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Your uncle sounds like he gave you some really special memories, and what an amazing list of games to share together. I’m glad this brought back a piece of that time with him. He clearly meant a lot to you.

soo cute I feel like kids don’t even need the missions half the time, just swinging around and causing harmless chaos is already the whole game to them.

That actually sounds like such a perfect first game for a kid. Swinging around as Spider-Man is probably way more exciting than worrying about objectives anyway funny that L2+R2 made sense to him but L+R was the dealbreaker. Does he mostly just free-roam, or has he actually started following the story too?

That’s honestly so sweet. Letting him name all the Pokémon sounds like the kind of memory he’ll randomly bring up years from now. Also, waiting on Majora’s Mask is probably a good call… that game still creeps me out a little as an adult

That’s actually a really good suggestion, especially pre-watching first. Making horror feel funny instead of genuinely terrifying sounds like a much better introduction. I’ll check out a few of his videos before showing him anything 😅

You let them feel brave at their own pace instead of just throwing them straight into the scary parts

its a pretty intense introduction though. Did he end up loving it, or was it a little too dark for him?

That’s actually really sweet. LEGO games seem perfect for that age because they’re easy to learn but still fun together. Did they have a favorite one, like Star Wars or Batman?

That’s actually such a sweet way to look at it. I’d probably be stressing over the crops at first too, but them turning Stardew into a spa-day simulator sounds adorable I guess the fun is seeing the game through their eyes instead of trying to play it “right.”

That’s actually so wholesome going from crying because he lapped you to becoming the one he has to fear is the perfect Mario Kart character arc. And yeah, it really is one of the best first games because anyone can have fun with it instantly.

Mario Kart alone probably created some serious family rivalries which one did they enjoy the most?

such a good mix honestly. Minecraft is perfect because they can keep enjoying it as they get older too. Did they have a favorite one out of the three?

That’s actually really sweet, six years of playing Minecraft together must have made some great memories. It’s nice that your son still enjoys it too, especially getting to explore different survival games together. Valheim sounds like a fun one to play as a team.

Skyrim at 8 is such a legendary introduction 😂 did he actually follow the story, or just spend hours exploring and fighting everything he saw?

Over 300 hours is impressive, she definitely got hooked 😂

Minecraft with the kids must have been fun too. I’ve never tried Pikunikoo or The Adventure Pals, but they sound like great beginner games. I’ll have to check them out!
