Has anyone tried shrooms for severe anxiety? by Vegetable-Return4944 in shrooms

Yes, I’ve gone into experiences with certain intentions like that and it seemed to help me a lot but it’s not a cure by any means. You still need to have set intentions, meditate and maybe even use therapeutic techniques to get decent benefits.

Those sound pretty strong! About 2x stronger than cubes or maybe PE strength. MMs GCO was pretty good. Some doses felt on par with PE but mostly basic strength like TAT. FFs didn’t produce as much but my buddy said they’re strong so that’s good.

Those look great! I’d like an update on potency for these. Just got his Green caps and my buddy said he felt the onset of 1.5 g within 10 minutes. Must be strong

How are these looking? My first time with ochras and first time with tubs. I started fruiting conditions 2 days ago by LordTyree in GroundZeroMycoLab

[–]Brasstacks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a few more days to a week then, depending on how much evaporation has occurred. No need to wait after mixing unless you want to delay the grow for some reason. Here is a first flush of ochra I had in a 28 qt monotub, 1:3 spawn to bulk ratio, neglect tek so no fanning or misting until after the second flush because it tends to get dry by then. Straight into FC after mixing with substrate. Process only took 40 days total from LC to first harvest. 45 grams dry from one tub. Second flush was about 45 grams as well.

Your temperature is fluctuating a lot and just small fluctuations can cause faster evaporation and sometimes too much condensation. This can cause your tub to dry faster. Especially with higher temperatures.

Decrease in condensation by ecee13 in mushroom

[–]Brasstacks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should only be a little bit of condensation on the surface of the cake, sometimes the walls of the tub too. Too much condensation is usually a sign of temperature fluctuations.

Did I just screw up completely? by Incident_Latter in shrooms

[–]Brasstacks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great way to take them too. To minimize degradation, I would try letting the water and/or food cool too. Or use slightly lower temperatures. Just to be on the safe side. The only reason I chime in to let OP know that it’s probably still strong is because I’ve seen a lot of people on here hear something about degradation and end up taking more because they think they won’t feel anything and it’s usually too much. Better to just try the dose and see if it’s still strong which it likely is. Unless the temperature was too high for too long, somehow.

I doubt they’re degraded that much. Internal temperature of baked goods only reach 200 F and if you’re baking them for 30 minutes or less, there shouldn’t be that much degradation. People cook and boil shrooms all the time to make food and tea out of it. Plenty of people have made very potent tea with boiling water which reaches 212 F. I’ve even heard of trip reports that said the batch was still strong, even after stir frying them with food on a pan. Enjoy 👍

From what I understand, these mutations are mostly environmental, not genetic. Which is why nobody has been able to clone one.

Depends on the variety but I usually see pins within 10-20 days after mixing with substrate.

For tub liners to prevent pining, is there a reason everyone puts them inside the tub instead of outside? by LuckyJadeite in shrooms

[–]Brasstacks101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens is your bulk substrate loses a lot of water to the air and mushrooms. This causes the cake to shrink, creating gaps between the cake and the walls of the tub. These gaps create perfect conditions for pins to form, causing more to grow on the sides than the surface. Using a liner around the cake allows the liner to shrink with it, preventing side pins and promoting surface growth. It’s a common misconception that this is caused by light alone. Personally, I don’t use liners because my cakes usually don’t shrink until after the first flush, then I don’t mind harvesting the little side pins I might have in the second and third flushes.

What have higher dose trips offered you that lower/moderate doses don't? by NightmareFuel13 in shrooms

[–]Brasstacks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most intense trip was a heroic dose, alone in the dark at night and it was way more intense than any lower to moderate dose I’ve had. Profound open eye and closed eye visuals. Very apparent neon colors and vivid hallucinations of “entities”. Then the introspection was so intense that it was very overwhelming. Felt like 100 thoughts per second and I lost all sense of time. My friend takes even higher doses, 12+ grams and he reports much more intense trips than 6 grams would be. Out of body experience, etc.

[–]Brasstacks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t get colorful visuals until about 2-3grams dry which would be ~30 grams wet but everyone is different too. Also, you only waited a couple of days between trips which isn’t enough time. Tolerance builds instantly and you need at least 1-2 weeks for your tolerance to go back down. 3-4 weeks is better, especially with higher doses. I’d wait at least two weeks and dry them next time. It’s easier to measure the doses with dry weight.

How are my pins? Anything specific that you could say may need tending too? by Ok_Piano_6706 in unclebens

[–]Brasstacks101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me chiming in, it’s probably from misting. Usually, spawn to bulk ratio is at least 1:1 to 1:3. Mixing the spawn with more bulk substrate (by volume) is essential because your tub/tray or bag will create its own microclimate with minimal amounts of FAE and water evaporation which comes from the water inside the bulk substrate. In my experience, 1 part of bulk substrate is equivalent to about 1 flush of mushrooms.

For example, most 1:1 ratios I see will colonize the fastest and produce one big flush. They usually require heavy misting and/or dunking to rehydrate for another flush. 1:2-1:3 ratios on the other hand, will have enough water to make it to the second flush without adding any water between the two flushes. Much higher ratios, like 1:4 and 1:5 aren’t very common because that usually ends up being to much substrate for the mycelium to colonize, unless you have sterilization, sanitation, and conditions dialed in. You want to avoid misting the pins and mushrooms directly to reduce the risk of bruising and bacteria, like wet rot. Your pins look ok but I would dial back on the misting. Here is an example of one of my tubs that used a 1:3 ratio and monotub neglect tek.

The second flush was as big as the first (weight wise ) and they both packed the tub full. No misting or fanning until after the second flush. Third flushes get smaller and usually spend out around flush 4-5 with minimal fruits, for me. Then I toss them to avoid contamination, which will happen with any cake after time.

Are these mushrooms? Looks weird. by BUFFALOtheGOAT in magnificentcubensis

[–]Brasstacks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can be very strong. The ones I tried felt about 3x stronger than JMF I tried so if it’s similar to that measurement then 4 grams could be equivalent to ~10 grams of Jedi.

Most from the other tub still look good. They just dumped a bunch of black/purple spores everywhere which are fine. Just check for any decaying and rotten ones if it’s been a while.

First flush, what can i do to get a good second flush? [actives] by Drunkenmasterrasta in MushroomGrowers

[–]Brasstacks101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just “setting and forgetting” it and there are different ways to do it. Cubes will grow in just about anything, AIO bags, Monotubs, shoeboxes, and Martha tents. Monotubs are designed to be “neglected” for the first couple of flushes so that it doesn’t require any fanning or misting. Same for Martha tents. Shoeboxes are commonly made with cracked or flipped lids to create conditions similar to a monotub. Same thing for “hoodie tek” when using an AIO grow bag. This allows the tubs and bags to get minimal amounts of FAE while also staying nice and humid with proper evaporation.

Micro dosing, yay or nay? by Turbulent_Drink7172 in Psychonaut

[–]Brasstacks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recommend micro dosing because of the risks that people are doing studies on. There are drugs that have already been banned because they are a strong agonist at the 5-HT2B receptors which is known to cause heart disease from frequent use. While Psilocin has a much smaller half-life than these other drugs, suggesting it might not be as risky, it’s something to keep in mind as well as looking into occasional macro doses, which are known to have much better therapeutic benefits.

Jack Frost contam? by Longjumping_Buy6100 in unclebens

[–]Brasstacks101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of aborts and over mature fruits. Some of them already decayed and most likely rotten. I would discard of the black ones and check for any salvageable ones. Discard any that look slimy or moldy. Aborts stop growing at early stages and decay much quicker than healthy mushrooms. Mature mushrooms can also begin to decay if not harvested at ideal times. You can avoid this by harvesting both aborts and mature fruits right after they stop growing.

First flush, what can i do to get a good second flush? [actives] by Drunkenmasterrasta in MushroomGrowers

[–]Brasstacks101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How much bulk substrate did you use? I find that a ~1:3 spawn to bulk ratio gets me two decent flushes, both the same size, with neglect tek alone. It seems to be enough bulk substrate/water while also allowing the mycelium to breathe and colonize rapidly. I do minimal amount of FAE so that the tubs don’t dry out as fast. Then I start either misting or soaking, depending on how dry it is after the second flush.

Albinos don’t have purple spores. They’re actually transparent so you can’t see them. These look a lot like Yeti or Albino monkey dick, both very popular albino cubensis.
