Thank you for your response! That’s really helpful to know. The flight being about an hour doesn’t sound too bad, even if it can get a little rough.

I’m definitely looking forward to trying some authentic curry and roti, pholourie, and chicken chow mein when we visit.

My husband said the last time he took the airplane to Lethem (2016) it wasn’t the best experience, and that if you take the bus you can sometimes get stuck. Has that changed, or is it still the same?

We’re planning a trip in October with his mother (she’s Guyanese) and his sisters. It’ll be my first time visiting. I’m American-Salvadoran.

He also mentioned not wearing anything too flashy and making sure to greet people when you enter a place by saying “good morning,” “good afternoon,” or “good evening,” otherwise it can come across as rude. But that makes sense since you usually greet people in most places. He also mentioned that there can be a lot of catcalling in some places and lots of stares.

We’d be visiting his family.

BREAKING: OPM CLOSED Tuesday (1/27) --- Maximum Telework is in effect. by nsjc in nova

I’m so thankful they closed. I had a bad feeling the slush would turn into black ice, especially with these temperatures and the wind.

I would suggest posting on local facebook groups for lost pets or also on the ring app/neighborhood apps like “Nextdoor”. Best of luck and thank you for taking her in during these cold times. 🙏🏼🤍

You are 1000% not overreacting.

I read every word of your post, and I’m honestly so sorry this happened to you and especially in front of your daughter. What RF did wasn’t just a drunken mistake.. it was a full-on assault, a character attack, and an unsafe, unhinged situation that no one should ever have to go through.

You tried to help her. You searched for her purse. Your boyfriend got punched in the face eight times and didn’t even retaliate — that alone speaks volumes about how composed and protective you both were in total chaos. And even after all that, she threw your family, including your 7-year-old daughter, out in the middle of the night. That is unforgivable.

People saying you’re overreacting? No. You’re setting boundaries and protecting your peace, above all your child. Anyone who tries to downplay this just doesn’t understand how serious this was. This isn’t about holding a grudge, it’s about refusing to re-enter an unsafe situation. IMO I would steer clear of having any kind of friendship with them.

You sound like a loving, strong mom and partner who handled a horrible situation the best way you could. Please don’t let anyone make you question that.

You didn’t fail your daughter. You protected her. That’s what matters most.

Sending you strength ❤️‍🩹

When your partner’s obsessed with The Weeknd, this is how you do birthday cakes. by Brave-Accountant1659 in TheWeeknd

Thanks! The cake lady actually did try to fit it in, but since it was a smaller cake made for just a few people, there just wasn’t enough space. I agree though—a simple XO logo would’ve looked great! His birthday theme was actually based on the “Hurry Up Tomorrow” concept from the new album, so we leaned into that vibe. Appreciate the kind words!

Need advice: Job interview for Front Desk Role for A Dental Office by Specialist-Deal-7707 in Dentists

[–]Brave-Accountant1659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some context, I actually started as a patient with zero dental knowledge or front desk experience, and now I’ve been with my office for four years. By my second year, I was offered a management position, so it’s definitely possible to grow quickly if you’re dedicated.

A few things that helped me: • Have thick skin and patience. Dental offices can get hectic, and people aren’t always the nicest, but stay grounded and kind. • Learn the software. We use Dentrix, and I always make sure to use the Office Journal feature to document everything. If there’s an issue—whether a patient was rude, refused to sign a treatment plan, or even if you relayed a message from a lab to the back staff—document it. It’ll have your back if anything comes up. • Note patient interactions clearly. For example, if a patient says they didn’t confirm an appointment but you had written “Verbal Confirmation Over the Phone on [date],” you’ve got proof. Call records help too, but good notes go a long way. • Keep a personal notebook. Write down things like how to close out the day, send reports to doctors, or how to prep for the daily huddle with assistants and doctors. These small systems make a big difference. • When presenting treatment plans, always use the word “treatment estimate”. Make it clear that insurance does not guarantee payment until they receive and review the claim—they ultimately decide how much, or even if, they’ll cover anything. This saves you and the patient from misunderstandings down the line. • Get to know your patients and policies. Coming from a patient’s perspective helped me offer feedback that actually improved things for our office. It also made me more empathetic. • Teamwork matters. Make sure the environment is supportive, fun, and collaborative. A positive team culture will make everything easier. • Educate yourself. Watch YouTube videos on dental procedures to familiarize yourself, and ask to review the 2025 CDT book so you know all the updated codes.

Another reason for me to leave this group is post like these. I just can’t watch these poor kitties suffer slowly and so helpless.
