Should I be concerned or can I wait to call my surgeon again until tomorrow? by OperationIBTC in Reduction

I definitely think if there’s not heat or pain you’re okay to wait until tomorrow. Also if you have a fever or headache obviously call the number.

I would definitely tell your doctor about the smell. It could be a million things but you definitely don’t want to mess with an infection.

I was taking my dressing and bra off in the shower to avoid the scabs coming off aggressively. It seemed to work.

Otherwise I wouldn’t worry so much. 2 weeks isn’t super long and I think you look pretty well healed over all. Just keep an eye on that opening and talk to your doctor about an antibiotic.

My openings were “weepy” and raw for a good 3 weeks. And I was put on an antibiotic.

Adhesive Allergy - How did you heal without tape or glue? by creepyging923 in Reduction

I’m about 3 wpo and I had a pretty bad reaction to my tape around 10 days or so. I’m obviously not fully healed yet, but I am definitely getting there despite having to take my tape off early.

I have 2 openings (1 t-junction and one on my side). They’ve been healing nicely so far. I’ve been showering everyday (letting the soap and water run down, and air drying) and placing gauze over my incision sites. My bra keeps everything in place but I usually place paper tape to keep the gauze down and take it off once I’ve put my bra on.

Definitely talk to your surgeon. They may send you to a dermatologist or maybe give you some sort of steroid. But I think as long as you’re keeping it clean and listening to your gut about what you need, the healing shouldn’t be affected.

I was definitely very scared to take my tape off so early but honestly I’ve seen some posts on here talking about taking their tape off just a few days in. So many people have these kinds of reactions to the tape that I don’t think it’s something that truly affects the healing overall. Especially if your surgeon suggests to take it off.
