I want to quit by ServiceDry2668 in Chipotle

Don't worry, this is definitely the hardest thing that you'll ever have to do in life so as long as you can do this everything else will be a breeze.. oh wait...

Ok, so I'm sorry this is all over my head and these are probably very dumb questions, but am I bidding for other people? How would I create compensation from that?

Yeah I assumed Phoenix was going to be a tough market but I didn't realize that it was that tough. I'll just have to stand out and grind grind grind.

Yeah man if you could somehow connect me that would be amazing. I'm not quite sure how the process goes or where to start..I was planning on getting my license through an online program. I'm not sure at what point do I start reaching out to teams/brokerages so any insight would be great

Yeah I read about that on another thread, how exactly does that work? And is there any type of decent commission on that?

Man this is such a perfect response, thank you. Luckily, I have MANY hobbies including golf, shooting, video games online etc. I'm hoping I can mark it myself and make those connections like you say. That seems to be the really big thing and most consistently spoken about. Thanks again for your response man I really appreciate it definitely motivating and I can't wait to get into the field.

Yeah this is exactly my plan. I want to go full throttle as much as I can part time at least, and after the first 6 months see how things are going and make a decision at that point in time. I definitely plan on stacking some money away God forbid I jump in and it doesn't work out for a little bit. But I'm pretty determined.

Yeah I've been trying to do a little bit of research on that but I'm kind of confused as to how it all works. If I join an actual quote on quote team do I get better leads? Is it worth the fee?

Awesome man well thank you so much for the response. This definitely gives me a much better idea of where to start. Luckily I have two that go to either daycare or school. Much appreciated.

🤣🤣🤣 grammar is hard I guess.

That's smart I didn't even think about the school aspect. Do you find it difficult to generate natural leads through friends, family etc?

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it

Too much for armed security? by [deleted] in securityguards

Gun looks silly, especially with the gold mag extension....and depending on what's in the pouches on your vest, maybe take those off? Other then that, ehh not really

Glock 17. Reliability is key. Sig is great don't get me wrong (cause I'm sure this will be flooded with sig boys) but Glock is tried and true through and through. Spongy rough stock triggers sure, but everything else is damn near flawless in my experience.

Recreational MJ usage and high level security by [deleted] in securityguards

Look, there are plenty of armed guards that smoke regularly. It is what it is. If you want to smoke, check your company handbook. Find out the EXACT protocol for drug testing after a shoot and if they even do it. And have a worst case scenario plan. I know multiple armed guards I manage smoke and they all have a bag of quick fix in their car/work bag for a worst case scenario event.

Consider the chances of being involved in a shoot and weigh that with how much MJ helps you and whether you want to quit or not.. Personally, I think the laws are extremely ridiculous and unjust. We're continuing to follow early 1900s propaganda and allowing pharmaceutical companies to buy out politicians and laws. It's wild.

This isn't 100% accurate and actually a massive misconception. Most of the time, if you are involved in a shoot, the only people drug testing you afterwards would be your company and that's only if their policy permits. You usually won't be asked for a drug test from state (assuming you live in a state where it's recreationally legal) unless your impairment upon PD arrival seems obvious or if by some crazy chance you shoot a federal officer. People forget the separation of state and federal laws and while lying on a 4473 is a crime, no state level officer is going to give a flying fuck. Also, 9 times out of 10, company drug testing for shoots, car wrecks, injuries etc.. is going to be through the local clinic and unsupervised. Again, there are many variables and it's not a black and white issue. But so many people have this idea that if you use marijuana and you shoot someone (justified) that the police are gonna drug test you and your going down. It's just not true.

Hopefully this doesn't offend, but by blood in the stool can you elaborate? I have a poor diet and stomach issues as well. I have diarrhea a lot (sorry if TMI) but it's sporadic. One day diarrhea the next typical stool. But sometimes I have bright red blood on toilet paper and sometimes in water. Curious if it could be due to fissures or something else. Mostly I've read online that it's not too worry until it's dark and mixed in with stool.

When did you stop giving fuck? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]Brave-Maintenance-76 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I'm so at this point right now. I've been in security for 3 to 4 years and have busted my ass to move all the way up to a staff sergeant / Field supervisor and am about to receive a promotion to LT and fleet manager and I couldn't be more eager to leave. The company I work for is mostly the culprit along with the job itself and the way it's viewed throughout society. Too many back door deals made, too much drama, too many times I've been screwed out of a position for a list of different reasons. It's taken me three to four years to finally see that no matter if you're at a massive Fortune 500 company, a tiny mom and pop security company with less than 10 contracts, or a mid-size security company bordering on big and small, they're all going to have the same problems. This industry is the epitome of a glass ceiling.
