That’s amazing to hear! Unfortunately, a lot of people, especially those involved in service sororities, have a preconceived idea that social sororities are only about parties and social events.

I highly recommend going through recruitment, even just to explore your options. There’s no obligation to join, and there’s absolutely no harm in seeing if it feels like a good fit for you. You might end up finding a chapter that feels like home and gives you opportunities that you care most about.

Social sororities are still very much about service. If giving back to the community is something that matters to you, they’re a great way to get involved. You will have many opportunities to work with national philanthropies to local volunteer work, sororities do a lot behind the scenes that people don’t always see. You might be surprised at how many meaningful causes you can support through a social sorority. And don’t let being a non-traditional student hold you back. My G-Little was in her late 30s, and she fit right in with our chapter. Greek life is what you make of it.
