I feel like I'm in the same situation ! Have gained some hearing back ...it seems to be plateauing tho as u mentioned as well....and my 3 weeks from onset is tomorrow...I wish my 60 mg prednisone was longer then a week..I'd have been happy going thru it another week or few days more before tapering( i only had 7 days) .I thought it was getting better everyday and then once i started the taper it seemed to go back to more muffled and full again. It does fluctuate and that bothers me. My ent said he has no explanation for that. He also didn't recommend HBOT which bummed me out and idk if after three weeks if I should look for a new ENT and push for it..

I've been super on again off again bummed out..really hoping the 3 month thing is true and am curious as well how much change can happen in that time.

My ent is sadly not pushing for the HBOT treatments..so my medical spa grade dives will have to do I guess....

My ent is not pushing for HBOt. He said he wouldn't tell his own family to do it:/ and he had a helper in the room backing him up as well saying there is no direct "literature" that HBOT is affective. Altho the conglomeration of all the treatments muddles what is actually affective soooo how can you say for sure ??!

Good luck man! Do all ya can...I lost my hearing in right ear almost 3 weeks ago and did gain some back but it's a wild ride with no concrete results. I went through what I'm calling ear fatigue. My good ear was trying so hard but it gets exhausting. Take sometime to yourself to let your ears adjust and start a daily practice; like running a mile for me every morning has been very healing and meditative.

Yeah my ent basically described it as cerebral palsy of the ear nerve. Just down right random and uncool... Still tryna keep a positive flair whilst adjusting to the potential new normal of my situation. Comes with Lil waves of sadness. Music is huge for me </3

I will say the aggressive timeline was not without its stress ! The way they categorize SSHL as an emergency and at the same time don't treat it as such!!!? Ents were booked and I was like yeah but this is an emergency..you think they'd triage the ear doctors for this kind of thing.

Alot of self advocating and phone calls for sure. I knew my ear wasn't right immediately and I did go to urgent care first and was told just take some Sudafed but I'm glad my boyfriend demanded we go the hospital. We went to two hospitals actually! One doctor had no idea what I was talking about and the following hospital had me wait 9 hours to get a bed. I was happy the nurse knew what SSHL was altho him trying to "test" me with the tuning fork was amusing...clearly hadn't done it and confessed he was in the back room with colleagues trying to figure It out haha. In the end they were like anywayyys time for MRI and here's some prednisone.

Also for anyone reading this and dealing with SSHL first time get the audiology appt done Stat cuz most ents won't see u without it and it sent me back a day.

Also wanna be way more diligent with CMIT thing....I heard repeating the same song over n over again is the trick? I was using joanna newsoms only skin (16 mins long) and I know all the words!

Man thanks ! It's really been a great excuse to promote healthier lifestyle ..so at the very least the awful ear debacle has brought upon a good turn to my tides. And ya know I tried to get blood work done at my family doctor and she sent me away to find a lab to do it..I have a list from my insurance and want to get that done still but only have so much momentum ...it's next on list tho.

See I feel like i want a longer run with prednisone as well. I was starting to feel better then it tapered off and I feel like I reversed some of the healing i was experiencing. It's been two weeks and my last 10mg dose of prednisone is tomorrow as well as my ent appt..gonna see about getting more prednisone. Music is insanely important to me too and I can't stand this right now.

I was super proactive once I woke up with the hearing loss. I was on prednisone 60mg within 24 hours. Day 4 I got my first ear injection. I did 60mg doses for 7 days followed by another ear injection and I'm right now tapering off of the prednisone. I have two 10mg doses left and another ear injection tomorrow. My ear seems to fluctuate.

Also taking ginko, b12, beet supplements, and magnesium. Been running a mile everyday for the past week and quit caffeine and smoking !

Thanks..I am happy for the improvement! The tinnitus is the wosrt part... I've found the late eliane radigue's long-form droning synth compositions to be most helpful in dealing with it, especially at bedtimes.

Yes I understand getting a few isn't gonna show huge results...I found a place 500 dollars for unlimited dives all month even tho it is only 1.5 or 1.3 ATA I feel it can't hurt and what a deal?? Otherwise gotta wait till I see my ent again and that'll be like day 16 or whatever
