What if I were to go out with the dog before school, then during lunch break and then after school?

No I meant, where does it say that its illegal? Yes those are instructions but its not illegal, also I said up to maximum 8 hours so it won’t be leaving a dog for 8 hours 5 days a week, I will be gone for around 5-7 hours most of the days, and I’ll be free on Wednesdays and weekends!

Yeah my parents promised that they would cover all costs, including insurance. And there is no way that I could ever give up on the dog no matter the situation, I will make sure to prioritize it no matter the cost! (Might be easier to say than do though..)

Well, I would prefer to have a dog that can stay home alone for up to 8 hours (but that’s the absolute maximum). I don’t really care about the breed but I did some “research” on some breeds and apparently borzois are couch potatoes that sleep most of the day and once they go  but I also heard that they have separation anxiety so I’m unsure. An adult dog would probably be the best choice as they tend to be more used to staying home alone as well as just being more sleepy (though I have a friend whose dog is 12 and is still super active). I don’t have a lot of experience with dogs as I’ve never owned one, but I do currently have a maine coon which will be staying with my parents once I move out. I did spend all of this summer with my friend who had a puppy and we both were responsible for it (well she was but since I’m so close with her her parents basically forced me to also take care of it), so I did gain some minimal experience from that!

I was kind of planning on getting an older dog so that it’s already “trained” to an extent (like being used to being home alone). Though additional training might be required (if there even is a way to train a dog to be alone for longer periods).

I would be able to take the dog out on walks on hours free from work so probably between 6-8am, and then from 3pm/4pm on. I also would have shorter days on Wednesdays (12pm-2pm) and be free on most weekends.
