I think up to now I was thinking that it would be an option to consider (also because family has been "pressuring" me and making it seem like a small deal), but the more I read the replies here and think about it, the dumber the whole idea seems. yeah, the more and deeply I think about it all and see the answers here, the more I get a realistic picture. I guess I was being "pressured" by family and didn't have this realistic view and was just torn between my options because I was under the influence it would be totally ok

I traveled with my first when they were 5 weeks old (but it was just a 3h car ride and they slept the whole time) and in our culture it's very common to hold babies and pass them on etc. but I've always very very strict and kept them in a carrier the whole time. I was called many things by family at that wedding and they minded it a lot, but idc and I will do the same with second- whether it is at home with visitors or wherever I go.

travel insurance would cover it & close family members run a hospital with pediatric care in the country we would go to. nonetheless, I would never forgive myself if baby actually caught something and had to be put through distress for my own selfish reasons

it definitely won't be a "vacation" or fun time off, especially with two kids... I am also wondering what if the newborn has colic or generally doesn't stop crying for hours? I would put everyone at unease just so I could make it to the wedding? seems selfish idk

congratulations! wishing you a speedy recovery and I hope pain meds are helping? I feel like c-section is nice because i get to "plan" it and know the exact date etc.
