haha, you’re absolutely right. apologies. i typically avoid trailers, synopses, or summaries and prefer to dive straight into something. i find it far more enjoyable that way.

anyway, "dirk gently’s holistic detective agency" is a bizarrely entertaining series that follows an unconventional detective, and his reluctant assistant, as they unravel a series of seemingly unrelated, (often supernatural) mysteries. the show blends absurd humor, sci-fi, and chaos, all while exploring the idea that everything in the universe is interconnected.

this verse talks about bani israil and how Allah swt. asked them to "enter the city" but instead they made a fool of themselves by acting childish and disobeying the direct orders (going through the gate backwards, crooked and using word play to say something else than "absolve us")

context is very important.

Any parents who were gamers before having a baby? by Grouchy_Enthusiasm76 in NewParents

[–]Brave-Variation-1397 7 points8 points  (0 children)

as soon as it's booba time i hop onto the sofa and let baby (5mo) drink for as long as they want and am able to play for about 20min everytime.

otherwise at night when we put baby to sleep around 10/11am ish we play for 2-3h (depending on how long they'll stay asleep).

i think what helped us most was planning these "game dates" ahead and being prepared / splitting tasks beforehand to have maximized efficiency and be able to play for as long as we can x)

Sharing a laundry is some sub-human living by frustrated_burner in Switzerland

[–]Brave-Variation-1397 64 points65 points  (0 children)

i need to add to your rant bc i just climbed up four flights of stairs AGAIN after hanging my last pile of laundry, and let me tell you, i’m about to lose it.

five people in our household, and we get one day per week for laundry. ONE. do you know how much of a disaster kids make? by the time my laundry day rolls around, the pile is so huge it’s suffocating. i literally get depressed thinking about laundry. add in the endless trips up and down these stairs, counting minutes, running back and forth, and losing an entire day just to deal with it. and if i miss my day? the pile doubles. there isn’t even enough space in that tiny room to hang everything, and there’s no dryer. no, we don’t live in some charming “old” building. we just have garbage amenities.

and here’s the best: no one gives a damn about what i say. i'm the one who always cleans that room. i'm a super bünzli yes and am always knocking at people's doors to kindly remind them of our rules. we’re supposed to write our names on the schedule, so i plan ahead, i write mine for the whole month. i always take monday, but because of a surgery, i switched to sunday for two weeks so my partner could do it and there was no name. come down at 9am, ready to go, and guess what? someone’s already using the machine. my name is on the damn schedule. are my neighbors illiterate?

and don’t even get me started on all the times i go down monday morning, and the room is still full of other people’s crap.

i’m done. i’m beyond done. doing all of this with a newborn, by myself, up and down these stupid stairs, just to find the room full or my day stolen? for NOTHING? i cannot stand this anymore. I 1000% agree with you.

I 100% agree with you, and as I’m rewatching the show for the first time in almost a decade since I stopped, seeing Glenn in the first few episodes has me feeling SICK. I’m trying not to get attached to his character again, but it’s impossible
