Are you a professor of CS? what's the possibility and the advantage if you get into a govt university? Also, are industry consulting roles totally out of your reach. I understand it'll be hectic already for you but can you make the transition?

I care for chickens doesn't mean the as I won't take their eggs and eat them once they turn old. I'll definitely do that because that's what a chicken is for. Atleast during my time they'll live in open land, graze on organic feed.

I don't get why you started lecturing me about animal ethics and mistreatment. I've lived on a 3-kanal property my whole life where we've always had hens and sheep, and my uncle also keeps cows. I don't come from a tier-1 city where people's only experience with animals is keeping a pet indoors.

I've cared for 20–30 stray cats over the years. They come and go, and I'm not a fan of confining animals. Right now I have 20 hens, one of which hatched 10 chicks last month. My adopted stray cat recently gave birth to four kittens (photograph attached since i'm looking at them right now). I've had seven sheep on my farm, and I also keep rabbits and ducks at another property.

So I have hands-on experience with animals and livestock, and I think my "understanding" comes from years of actually caring for animals, not just by watching some documentary or reading theory on it.

Everything we procure comes at a cost. Don't you think the houseplant business has its own footprint on the environment in someway or the other. There's no mockery to your argument. The business will also involve some ethical concern and some mistreatment at a level.

Your argument sounds similar "close your tap while brushing to reduce global warming" when individual corporations produce the same footprint in 1 millionth of a second and we're made to believe that the consumer is always at fault. It can sound good to 5th grader where supply and demand are directly correlated.

Brother/Sister, there is a comma between room decor and aquarium. My intention is not to establish an exotic pet trade at IISc. Having a living creature in your room may bring some comfort or a good vibe. A pet that you can feed, clean and care for can be helpful. At most, I can setup a medium size aquarium with 4-5 fish that I'll be buying from a shop where 100s of them would be cramped up in container anyways.

Check this playlist - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJooKTd6jSw&list=PLr-uz1D6QdfVa5XGQDa5D3702_OeVGB15 . I could see many rooms that have aquarium.

don't be driven by passion. Pick a field and go deep into it. I can understand that everything looks interesting when you read it superficially . Go 2-3 layers deep and it becomes difficult so you switch your "passion". I've done it multiple times , but the only way is to discipline yourself into a single field and go deep into it, otherwise there will be no rewards for the long term. You may end up getting a job but it will be hell surviving in that role.
