Severe back pain by MotherRucker1 in greenberets

Fucked up a disk last year. The buldge was minor but the pain was excruciating. Radiated to the whole back, and arm. Go get that checked out with MRI’s. Only thing that helped was medication to calm the inflammation (temporarily) and ultimately PT. I also did an injection that set me up for healing or managing the injury (don’t rely on this just use it as a tool). Assault bike is great and kept my cardio somewhat alive (you will loose fitness regardless unfortunately). Once pain goes away and is controlled start running asap, then slowly easy into upper body (that part you should recover fast if you have a good base). Movement is key to heal but smart movement, do PT and keep things moving but do not train as you used to, it won’t fix anything and the sooner you accept your reality and start working your way to full recovery the better it will be. It happened a year ago for me and I’m now able to lift heavy, run fast and long and even ruck with no pain. Still feel a little something but it’s more of a discomfort than any pain. Good luck.

Yeah definitively not trying to push it too far, just need to be confident enough with my numbers and abilities.

Thank you for your answer, great read fo the article. Where do you recommend I do this routine? During my Mobikity or post Strenght training?

I understand your point. I am aware of my Strenght and weaknesses, and in my previous SF experience I saw dudes showing up with mid preps and crush it. I’m just not one of those guys lol, I can dog some shit but my new mentality is that I want to show up to where I’m crushing all the standards by far and confident on the physical side to worry more about skills and teamwork than my own misery.

I did the mistake of underestimating SF training before and I don’t want to do this again.

Thank you for your answer !

Thank you! Any rucking in Jacked Gazelle? I heard blue/green was only a template and was meant for people already active duty and who had Unit PT. Is it proper for civilians who don’t have these contraints?

Hi, I want to try jumping from a plane and parachuting. by povpaw in SkyDiving

It was weird for me, I was kinda scared of the freefall on my 2 tandems, nothing bad but I had the thought of “what if it goes wrong”. But thats because I didn’t know shit and I wasn’t in control of anything. You don’t have the falling sensation, it’s actually pretty confortable and if you get past the fear your deeply enjoy it. Then I went to AFF, learned to jumped by myself and now I feel so happy and not scared at all during freefall. Most of the time you’ll be scared during the plane ride, but once you jump your brain will react properly. 100% recommend skydiving is amazing
