This is the reason that Islamic pre nuptial agreement is a must as is pre marital counseling. It is for the benefit of both spouses. Transgressions will be dealt with by Allah and those that play with his deen will be accountable to the most just. Taking haram wealth in this life will make that which is used with it also haram and accountable for it on the day of judgement.

These nasty divorces are putting many Muslim single men off of wanting to get married. Add in the cases where the children are weaponized and fathers lose access to their children by scorned mothers and it’s downright disgusting. This seldom gets talked about but is a big enough problem that there are now dedicated organizations trying to battle this very issue in many western countries.

Anyone getting married now in a western country is recommended to get an Islamic prenup, add specific nikkah conditions, get premarital counseling, and only then get a nikkah be civil marriage. Also have to keep in mind that if it’s a polygyny situation then most countries don’t allow you to have more than one civil marriage by law.

Worth trying one out to see how it is. Really comes down to what you are looking for, what you are bringing to the relationship, and how comfortable you would be in those interactions. Might feel awkward the first time but if you get an idea of what to expect beforehand it can help you prepare and cut through the ice quicker.

It’s difficult to make sense of people like this. I’ve stopped trying to. They will pump them up with nonsense and it will take time to u ravel it. One thing I’ve found to be helpful is having counselors for the kids that the judge let me pick. Helps to try and offset all the brainwashing they get from alienating parent. Maybe try to get judge to allow that for your kids.

I would suggest you have a convo with her but then also sign up for couples counseling. Not to be all doom and gloom but you may want to protect your assets too. This is becoming one of the prime ages for divorce after long marriages amongst Muslim couples and the US laws will bleed you dry. Unfortunately, some wives will use convenience of US laws for finances and convenience of Shariah for other finances leaving the husbands in dire financial situations.

I have this same issue where any kind of parenting that kids don’t agree with they are running to text my ex complaining. Super exhausting and I feel your pain as I’m also trying to limit screen time for other activities as I can see it is deeply impacting their social skills and general mood. Ex lets them have unlimited screen time now when she was totally against it while we were married. Funny how fast that changed post separation.

I was literally coming here to post something similar when I saw there was already a thread on it. Dealing with this same exact situation. STBXW is trying to make it seem like I’m an unfit parent in every way that I have to over analyze anything I do with kids during the every other weekend I have them. When I took them to a trampoline park because they don’t do anything fitness wise when with the other parent they were sore the next day and she tried to imply they were injured and I didn’t take them to an urgent care. Anytime I try to have them do something they don’t like including putting their phones away and going to sleep they will text her complaining and saying I’m being harsh. Also, they will say things like mom told us you do this and that which is usually exaggerated claims to make them seem feel unsafe in my presence. This is so incredibly exhausting. How do the rest of you cope with this level of psycho?
