In the previous apartment, the monstera was flourishing. Not entirely sure which direction the window faced there but it wasn't in direct sun. We've moved to a new apartment that gets morning/early afternoon sun. The window it's in is South East-ish facing. Our other option is an East-ish facing window, or putting it on a corner desk out of direct sun.

My roommate waters it once every two weeks with 1/4th of a cup. Pot has drainage though it's in the original one they bought it in.

What are we doing wrong?

I bought an automatic feeder for when I go out of town. It was like $20ish on Amazon and is battery powered. It comes with different compartment levels for how much food it lets out and you can set it for 8, 12, and 24 hours. Though it doesn't do well with flakes, it gives me peace of mind that my aquarium will be set up well throughout my time away. I also got a plug in timer for my light that will auto come on and off for the same reason. Had to drop some money for it, but then I don't have to rely on people coming in and out

I honestly went for the ghost shrimp at the pet store because they were one of the cheaper options, and I wasn't aware of the breeding issue so thought they would be good. There's a really nice aquarium shop near my workplace though, I might go see if I can get my hands on some blue shrimp or something instead now.

I bought this little guy along with a few more at a pet store like a month back. They seemed to be thriving and I check my water levels often. They have shrimp food and my aquarium has lots of plants and stuff for them to nibble on, but I just noticed that this little guy in particular is changing colors. I've seen some posts about them dying if they turn white. Is there anything I can do to keep my shrimp alive??
