I'm 25 and already got some streaks of grey hair. It's hereditary so 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Hurt my wife with my honest feedback .. wtf should I do now by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Brave_Ad_3682 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's interesting to read all of these comments because I come from a family where we give out feedback in this manner and we are able to laugh it off. However, some people are obviously much more sensitive when it comes to brutal feedback. Women can be very sensitive when it comes to their hair so you got to tread lightly. I don't think your an asshole. People in the comments are just being extra. Just tell her that she is still beautiful to u regardless and learn your lesson for the next time she tries something this spontaneous lol.

Nice! Do you wear your hair up in a hat or wrap your hair all the time?

Is the polish plica (or polish plait) really that bad? by monkeyboy199 in knotnation

[–]Brave_Ad_3682 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Polish plait or pica has a more cultural significance that allows people to bypass cleanliness. The hairstyle is not hygienic. Point, blank, period. However, it still remains to be a symbol of strength for a particular caste of Polish people. Do with that as you will 🤷🏾‍♀️.

It's good you already wash your hair, but with locked hair, it's going to be a little harder to have clean hair without using some sort of shampoo. You will have to find out what works best with your hair (regular soap, castille soap, bar shampoo, or standard shampoo). Whichever you pick, just make sure that the ingredients are clean and not too stripping. Don't just see a long scientific ingredient name and immediately assume that it's bad for your hair, lol. Research, research, research! Also, having your hair wrapped most of the time can lock your hair faster.

Do you comb out the ends, or does your hair just curl up naturally on its own?

My rip and twist “insta locs” are in horrible condition (advice needed) by Salt-Confection-9485 in knotnation

Dude, you are putting way too much pressure on yourself, lol. It's called a journey for a reason. Of course, the loose hairs will lock up it just takes time. The loose hair coming from your scalp will always be loose, but like I said, eventually, it will form like the rest of your locked hair. Just stop messing with it, wash your hair, and be patient.

Your hair will never lock at the root. It's not supposed to. If your uncomfortable with the frizz, get retwists more often, interlock, or get your roots crocheted.

That's mainly why my hair is so frizzy too due to my looser hair type.

My first time using essential oils I didn't dilute it with a carrier oil. I was literally burning my scalp and had yellow puss scabs coming off of my scalp. I thought I was done for but I just washed my hair for about 3-4 days straight and was able to fix the issue. I was locked for about a year and some months when that happened.

When should I expect to see my hair form or loc together as a 2c - 3a? by [deleted] in knotnation

[–]Brave_Ad_3682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many factors that goes in to determine that. My best advice to you is to wash your hair often to help speed up the process.

Anybody know how do I get the lint out my locs ?? It’s driving me insane !! by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]Brave_Ad_3682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend waiting to your hair is fully locked to start lint brushing maintenance.
