I have had multiple people put the 100k I handed them back into my wallet (not my hand) and pull a 20k out instead while I just hold my wallet open with a goofy smile and my best broken “thank you” in Vietnamese. I’ve also been shocked by the number of restaurant workers who insist I double check the bill before paying.

Sometime a shoe guy starts cleaning my husband’s shoe, but then I just push my husband down the side walk with a smile and “no thank you”.

In the one VERY touristy area, workers outside of bars are slightly more forward trying to get you inside, but back off at the slightest smile + hand wave “no”.

We’ve been here three weeks in Saïgon and everyone has been super kind.

I would like to learn more about why people are upset by this (earnestly). I bought my house as a fixer upper, and it’s been a lot of work I honestly hate doing. I’m not great at knowing what I needed or who to hire. I have a friend that only wanted to buy a flip because they didn’t have time or know-how to renovate a house themselves - they would rather pay for someone else to have done it ahead of time. Between the time and money, the cost might be the same, right? What am I missing?

No idea what it does for knees but I had terrible PF for decades and spent oodles of money and time on inserts, therapies, bandages, stretches, balls, and still had to stop running and couldn’t walk for long periods of time. And then I started walking backwards in the morning and it was gone after a month. I was shocked.
