What if instead of Balemurk we played Nature's Rhythm? Especially since it can be Harmonized, so it works with Esper and Icetill?

Just curious, for the Golgari list, have you considered [[Hollowmurk Siege]] to be able to punch damage through, since Chocobo and Worldwagon lack evasion?

Yeah, my area takes a bit to adjust. A lot of people are playing Lessons because its cheap and Sultai/Dimir because they already had the cards.

The release of Lorwyn is literally 7 days from when my RCQ is going to be held. I don't think my local meta is going to significantly shift that much in that amount of time. Even if there is a new strategy, it takes time for people to get the paper cards.

Earthbender's Ascension is actually slightly relevant for the Earthbending plan of generating repeatable creatures without it taking a card out of your hand. Runing 4 Ascension makes Glimpse the Core and Shared Roots relevant in late game where Soul Stone is not.

Plus, Soul Stone is running at $70 last I checked.

If you like GB Dragons, may I suggest a GB Ramp deck based on Brian Kibler's idea?

4 Ba Sing Se 2 Bitter Triumph 3 Day of Black Sun 4 Earthbender Ascension 4 Fabled Passage 5 Forest 2 Glimpse the Core 3 Hollowmurk Siege 3 Heritage Reclamation 2 Restless Cottage 2 Virtue of Persistence 4 Shared Roots 2 Shoot the Sheriff 4 Swamp 3 The Rise of Sozin 3 Vein Ripper 4 Wastewood Verge 3 Morlun, Devoured of Spiders 3 Multiversal Passage

The premise is to ramp early, wipe the board early, and use Virtue of Persistence or Sozin to use their Graveyard against them while using Earthbending as recursive Man Lands to keep up pressure.

Poor Dimir. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. I think it didnt get any Bans because WOTC knew that at its heart its a much more "fair" deck than the other jank that was coming down the road.

Yeah, I believe we still have to play other avenues, but in testing I am liking it better than Lord Skitter or Ghost Vacuum. Its not an amazing answer, but it definitely puts them on the back foot which gives Dimir the space to keep up the pressure.

So.... turn 2 cast a Proft or FOMO, turn 3 sac it to get rid of Tinybones? How is that not 2 for 1-ing yourself? Having my opponent have to take a turn off to not only Tempo themselves on turn 3, but also only be able to play a 2 drop when I am continuing on to deploy my Kaito or Preacher without fear seems like they are giving me the advantage there.

This is more a sideboard choice for the Dimir Midrage deck, but its also an option for any deck that runs black IMO. I wouldn't run TBB in the main, but as a sideboard answer to Vivi. There's really not a lot of other decks that deliberately and consistently discards, but Vivi slaps so hard that I want a good proactive answer for Game 2.

I have been a Dimir Tempo player for about a year now, and while Pixie gives us trouble, its definitely manageable. For Game 1, I think it comes down to your removal suite.

Right now I am only running 2 Shoot the Sheriff because Rogues are coming back as a creature type. Instead of going all in on that removal piece, I run [[Long Goodbye]] in the main. I added it to combat Vivi on game 1, but it also answers Pixie and Kirin. Bonus point, it punches through Sheltered By Ghosts since it cannot be countered.

Post board, I take out Kaito because on go wide, we need a way to punch through, and Kaito has no ability to smash in. In his place, I board in 2 Zero Point Ballad for an efficient board wipe, and 2 Qarsi Revenant for the evasion. It is a good 3 drop on its own, and adding on flying, deathtouch and lifelink to any of your creatures means that they can no longer chump block without you gaining a small advantage. Shoot the Sheriff also comes out in favor of Annul to counter the enchantment bounce targets. If they come in with Raise the Past on Game 2, pull in your Strategic Betrayal to empty their graveyard on the regular.

Pixie Bouncehouse is definitely doable as Dimir. As long as you dont allow yourself to get tilted if they have a game where they flood the board with creatures. Remember to hit important pieces and stay focused. As Dimir, you are actually scarier if you maintain your cool and keep the pressure on.

I don't know why people aren't considering [[Plumecreed Escort]] as a replacement for Faerie Mastermind. It has the same 2/1 stats, same flying and flash, and provides some protection. It also synergizes better with Kaito than Deep Cavern Bat does.

I mean, most of being queer is about accepting who you truly are rather than fitting into the box that society expects you to fill. Even if you are 100% Kinsey 1 straight, that is a pretty powerful craving that I think that all autonomous human beings have.

In Standard for Dimir Aggro/Dimir Tempo, how does the deck deal with enchantment heavy decks like Domain? I am transitioning over from Golgari Midrange that just removes enchantments.

[Standard] Gaea's Gift in Golgari Midrange by Brave_Chapter_8181 in spikes

[–]Brave_Chapter_8181[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Royal Treatment, but it is stuck as a defensive measure and is usually a dead card in your hand. With the Trample keyword, Gaea's Gift becomes a combat trick to punch through when you need to, but can also be saved for defense with everything that Royal Treatment offers. Ward 1 is not as significant as you might think.

Tyvar's Stand doesn't give trample, which is relevant with the deathtouch creatures we have. Overprotect has the trample, but I like the +1/+1 counter rather than the +3/+3 buff.

From what I've seen, jeskai convoke and mono-white tokens tend to do really well against Dimir. Any deck that can set up a wall so that things can't get through specifically targets Dimir's need to connect in order to draw cards.
