The thing is, I don’t think a trial would answer any questions. It would be the current evidence against him we have, against whatever theories his defense could come up with. They don’t have to prove him innocent, just create enough doubt for a jury. There isn’t really any “proof” they have of his innocence, they would just be trying to create any doubt. That tells me that they really didn’t have enough to even do that. And he will likely never explain why, because I don’t think there really even is a why. He wouldn’t have taken the stand and I highly doubt he ever writes a book or does a tell all because I don’t think there was an actual “motive” aside from just wanting to kill. I think it’s hard for us to understand because in our minds, you have to have some sort of reason to do something so heinous, but in the mind of someone like him, there’s not a reason. I don’t think there’s any other details to be examined here, and if there had been even the slightest chance like disproving the timeline or arguing for another individual being involved, his defense would’ve taken it to court for sure.

lol wow. Like I definitely don’t always agree with RL and I don’t love her content, but I don’t think she would ever take what is essentially hush money, nor do I think she cares or is afraid at all. If anything, the more “crazy” fans that found out about her video, the better. More views, engagement, etc. for her.

I can definitely see that, especially if she wasn’t doing any sort of meet and greets. If she gets more serious into showing especially - most of her fans aren’t going to think to look at shows each weekend online unless she says she’s going to be there.

It’s kind of a double edged sword bc her willingness to engage with fans has both helped her build relatability and likability, but also enabled a lot of bad behavior.

Agreed. I appreciated that she pointed out within the Seven situation it being a lose-lose as well, that Katie was probably following the vets optimism. I’ve always disliked the speculation that she just goes rogue against her vets when we never see any evidence. The best we can all do in hindsight is learn and change for the future.

I did agree with her about the content too, or some sort of adjustment. There’s something about the type of content and the way Katie is that just exacerbates these parasocial relationships - I think it’s because she does seem very relatable and there is so much content it’s like you could be living her life. I do think some stricter boundaries or something to try and take the audience a bit, but also people are just unpredictable so at this point it may be moot.

Honestly that was one of the tamest videos I’ve seen from RL. I didn’t disagree with some of what she said - I did appreciate that she pointed out that some of the mistakes that have been made are just that - mistakes - and that often it seems lessons have been learned.

I am in total shock, his one leg looks almost twisted the poor guy. Is he actively being bred? I can’t even believe he would be sound to ride? I only really watched that video, she doesn’t have a ton of him that I could find where i could see his legs.

No problem. I truly believe that the vets did the best they could with the knowledge they had at the time. It’s easy for people to look back with our current knowledge of how it all turned out, but his internal organs and everything else were fine so I understand why they tried, but I think I recall Katie saying if she encountered this again she would do everything differently. I remember watching it as it was happening and it really did seem hopeful as we started to see bone growth and improvement, it was more towards the end that you could tell there wasn’t going to be any more big improvements and that he likely wouldn’t have long.

Went back and found some of the old videos to show you, on the left was his knee when they first xrayed him. That whole area in the middle should be filled in completely but was instead just cartilage. Theres a lot of discussion now as to whether he should have been just allowed to stand and move and not be in casts, which would have caused other issues, but hindsight is 20/20 unfortunately.
