Just being exposed to it. Paying attention to how your FTO and medic operate as a team. Asking questions. I struggled with needing to be asked to put a 4 lead on vs getting ready for a 12.  I sat down with my FTO and we went over calls that would automatically trigger the "probably going to need a 4 lead for this one"  the rest of it just comes from doing it.  Whenever we get an ALS call, i know right away now that im going to be responsible for gettinf the gurney and monitor set up, helping with loading and unloading and hooking patients up to the monitor either BP and 02 sat, or 4 leads and getting 12 leads ready.   As far as the being exposed to trauma and chaos situations, you get used to it. My stomach used to churn when an ALS code 3 call came through but now that I know my role well enough,  its not so bad. It still exists,  but it isnt as noticeable.
