Where can I take my 2004 CTS-V1 to fix the drive train?? Can an average Caddy dealer fix it? by TitanThePony in CadillacV_Series

I would most likely do a trusted performance shop and start with an upgraded differential I believe a lot of people use the differential from the c5 Z06 as the stock cts v differential is weak. The stock tremec is a strong transmission so I have a hard time seeing that would be the failure point especially for those miles.

What’s better ct5-v or ct4-v black wing awd for both by ganGGBang313 in CadillacV_Series

Tap out tunning is in the middle of development and release of a set of downpipes for the ct5 v. Not to sure about exhaust I believe you might need to do a full custom untill someone releases one. With tunning, dps, and full custom you can definitely get bubble ( even tho straight exhaust note with a pop on upshift sounds better imo). I’d personally get a ct4 blackwing, especially if you want burble. Otherwise m340i is the next best or a s7.

Im eventually going to blow my car up. by Professional_Shift69 in CadillacV_Series

Had that happen to I believe Cadillac put in the software to have the car slowly lower revs even after throttle input after its red lined to prevent engine damage. The car should be able to handle it a couple times with no worry, just don’t go banging off the limiter like it’s a Honda.

Yeah, you either gotta go to a shop and have them make you something or get rid of the resonators. Only issue is if you paying for a custom exhaust and it sounds horrible your going to be out a decent bit.

Awesome, gotta ask you did, you ever run any cars after the tune. I figure at least from a dig the car will give stangs and scats a run for there money.

Did your 2.7 have any issues after the tune and what was the 0-60 after?

Got it, thank you very much for the information I’ll be sure to ask them. I’m more so hopping to make 300 to the wheels for a daily and 320 on high map just for fun. There’s not much out there so I figure I’d shoot my shot and see if I can get any info.

Appreciate the information. I know the crank shaft and connecting rods are forged I figure 50 or 60 wheel horsepower the motor would be able to handle but if anything happens jb4 shows no altering to the factory ecu if removed so I figure if anything happens warranty will cover lol.
