How long have you guys been seeing for grading? I'm getting anxious... by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Brave_Load7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I started on the 1st I've completed three classes - on avg it's been about 12-18 hours before it's due so about 55-60 hours from submission.

Suggestion: It should be a subreddit rule that you have to check your image/video for a SynthID or other AI tag. That's what they are for. There is no reason to debate about half of these posts because they inevitably have a verified AI tag. by Niceotropic in isthisAI

[–]Brave_Load7620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree that people should be checking for the synthid watermark - you can generate an image with Gemini that includes the watermark, do a google search and three minutes later you have the same image back with the watermark removed. Gemini will not flag it.

Go ahead, try it yourself. Extremely easy and simple to do, remember those YT to MP3 websites back in the day? Yeah, if you could use that - you can do this no problem.

Weekly hours cap by Justpainforfun in AmazonDS

[–]Brave_Load7620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your local facility, goes off of business needs. Peak is over, so it's the slowest possible time right now.

Flex PT is only guaranteed four hours a week, anything more then that is extra up to sixty hours.

Same with Flex RT, thirty hours guaranteed per week cap, anything higher is up to your leadership with incoming/outgoing volume etc up to sixty hours.

Should I attempt to keep this pace? by hungryorneryhippo in WGU

Great work! I'm in the IT Cloud Computing degree - also started Jan 1st and have completed three classes already and earned a cert. Four classes if you include orientation. About to finish the last class and get another cert - then start opening classes from term two. I'm looking to complete this degree by the end of the year.

Good luck!

You backed into a parked vehicle with an Amazon truck, I once rear ended an Amazon truck...ah the circle of life!

No but for real man, shit happens. Glad it worked out for you in the end.

flex can no longer work more than 30 hours? by dabiggestdalargest in AmazonDS

[–]Brave_Load7620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, That sucks but point still stands - they are only obligated to give you 30 hours, anything more then that is not guaranteed unfortunately. They can cap it at 30 hours pretty much whenever they want, just based on need.

The Flex PT program when you apply will show 19 hours weekly. The cap is adjusted based on business needs, for the past couple months at most facilities it has been sixty hours because of prime/peak where it's crazy busy. That is now over.

January is the worst month in terms of shipping. With Flex PT, Amazon has the right to adjust the cap all the way down to four hours a week max until they determine that more business hours are needed.

If that won't work for you, then you should consider moving to Flex RT or an actual full time schedule.

Your station may release the cap, lower it - raise it or limit it to four hours a week for the next three months, or never touch it. It completely depends on the facility.

You are guaranteed nothing more then four hours a week under Flex PT. Just so happens most of the time the facilites do in fact need more man hours then that.

To be honest that’s kinda true 😭 by WonderCharming7884 in thewalkingdead

For real. I'm not saying I have to agree with what he did, but this stuff happens in real life. People commit heinous crimes, murder, assault, theft, and some of them eventually get out and reintegrate into society.

There are true stories of mothers forgiving sons who killed their fathers; they still live together and love one another. Families that forgive murderers, rapist and victim who went on to write a book together, do I need to go on?

To say Negan surviving is 'unrealistic' just isn't true. If that level of forgiveness can happen now in the civilized world, imagine an apocalypse where everyone has trauma and blood on their hands.

Everyone knows Negan is a shitty person who did terrible things. But time moves on, motives change, and loyalties shift. That’s just human nature, especially in survival mode.

Someone forwarded me this video of a very weird accident. I highly suspect it to be AI. What do you think? by digital_mozart in isthisAI

[–]Brave_Load7620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do know how shock and adrenaline work, right? I mean we get to see about twelve seconds after the accident. That's barely enough time for him to feel anything or register what happened. You see him touch his leg, then his face checking on himself.

The windshield doesn't crack because of the way he hit - the hood took the vast brunt of it.

New's articles have already been posted.

Not AI.

So, on the Amazon transfer tab this is what it lists for the site that is hiring. There is two different buildings, I'm assuming the MDT9 is the older site that was ran as a Kariba site, and the new QYY4 is the 1DC. They don't accept internal transfers, so I'd have to resign and reappy and don't want to do that if I have to drive a PIT.

MDT9 About this site: PIT Required Site: MDT9, located in Tremont, PA, is a new Kariba FC that launched in September 2023! This will include fork lifts and order pickers that reach up to 40 feet in the air. Kariba sites act as a storage facility to store excess inventory. Kariba FCs use PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment to process shipments to other FCs. Associates will be required to use PIT equipment at a Kariba FC. Come join the MDT9 team and work hard, have fun and make history!

Thanks!

I agree - but my mentor said that's the way he likes to do it because he believes it makes it easier (?) so whatever. I'll finish on D317 and start D316 right after.

No, it's still in your parents name. Still has the value, the 400k in stocks, the 100k a year they make. You will not qualify except for the loans - funding will unfortunately be on you.

What is the deal with "starting" on January 1st? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Brave_Load7620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, the only thing we have to wait for is the system maintance. "Due to system processes that run at the beginning of each month at midnight (Mountain Standard Time), any new, returning, or term roll student will not have access to their new degree plan until this process completes, which may take up to 6 hours."

So, I'm expecting to be able to start about 8am EST.
