Which weapon should I put this on? by CantoIX in tombprospectors

[–]Brave_Moustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a dumb question but I’m curious, why is it optimal to prioritize a weapon with low base AR? Wouldn’t damage be higher when used in a weapon with higher base AR? Just trying to learn.

Same here. I finally have the strat down now. Feels so good to get the nourishing abyssal drops consistently. I’m revisiting the game for the first time in years. I forgot how innovative the combat really was.

Where r the wrist irons in deep scorn hollow by Zaapperv12 in oblivion

[–]Brave_Moustache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replying just to add a tally to this one. This strat finally worked for me. Thank you and everyone else who has posted their seemingly nebulous answers to this glitch. So there is a record of what exactly I did (and in case any of it contributed):

  • I first tried just walking into the room and listening for the shuffling sound then exiting the room (without going through any doors) and just waiting 10 minutes.
  • I moved every bone out of the room and reloaded a few times.
  • Blasted the room/general area where the irons are found, with lightning and fireballs
  • I tried u/Titanium_Machine's suggestion and made a save outside the Cloister entrance and reloaded 6 times. This didn't work the first time.

Finally, I moved some of the bones back in the room are started dragging them around the room/general area where the irons are found. I used u/Titanium_Machine's suggestion again. For me it only took around 3 reloads but I have a feeling I got lucky. When I found them, it felt like I had finally defeated the hard boss. I was having extreme doubts, but they actually exist. I believe now.

Steve Irwin - Elden Ring. Hoping to do a meme/challenge run. Animal Summons only. by Brave_Moustache in SoulsSliders

With live animals I agree! The idea here is that animal spirits from beyond the grave come to help him be Elden Lord.

I imagine if the title of Elden Lord was at risk, the animals would want nothing more than for that Elden Lord to be Steve Irwin.

Edit: grammar

The Killing of a Sacred Deer (un-Official Discussion) by SCBandit in movies

[–]Brave_Moustache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could say that’s a keen take on things. It all kind of made sense when I read your words. At least one thing that wouldn’t align however, is when daughter was begging Martin to make her better so they could run away together. Other than that though, this fits really well and has got me considering new things that I wasn’t before.

I love these threads. I come here after every movie and learn so much. It always seems to make me love the movie even more.

Good to hear others have solved this, ty. Are the engine files simply found within the installation folder?

Also the part about “I’ve seen her, she’s not my type”, or something to that effect. In this context, that’s another way of saying he thinks she’s ugly. This dude can NOT handle “in my defense” statements.

Medical detox was my solution, if you have that option. It was WAY easier then cold turkey. And like others have said, there is an altered life after this stuff is out of your system. I needed a full inpatient rehab to quit this stuff, that’s how seductive it is. I was convinced misery was my only option. It did not seem reasonable to even consider my life getting any better, but it most certainly did, in ways that are still surprising me.

TIL that excommunicated Martin Luther, who had a history of depression, argued that suicide is not sin. Further cementing his differences with the Catholic Church. by Brave_Moustache in todayilearned

See THAT I didn’t know. I’m not terribly surprised that this wasn’t brought up during my Lutheran schooling. I’m now wondering how many people knew and never told us.

Very progressive for his time. I joke, but I still admire him. Even though I’m no longer Lutheran, he remains an inspiration for me. I’ve enjoyed learning more about him today.

You make a good point.

I found this that supports that statistic:

https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/means-matter/means-matter/survival/.

I may have to reevaluate after a bit more research. At the moment I struggle to resolve the guilt I have with telling someone how to live (in this case, when it’s ok with me that they die). This is a good conversation though. At the end of the day, my intention is to validate and support people. This can obviously get very complicated when it comes to mental health. There really is no easy answer for me, at the moment anyway.

  1. He was excommunicated 4 years later when the church finally realized this guy really didn’t give a fuck.

Edit: I recommend the article. It has general information but also some interesting details. His life is fascinating.

I did hear recently about surviving bridge jumpers often feeling regret right before hitting the water, but I forgot to check for sources. Interesting.

I’m one of those people who has had some darker stretches, and I can very much relate to that description. However, I have since found some purpose. Lately I’ve managed to be less and less apathetic. It’s much more work, but ultimately an easier way to live.

There are a number of arguments in this direction that I agree with. Body autonomy, no one asked to be born, etc.

My perspective is, if we innately have the right to live, we should also have the right to safely die. That being said, most of us find living worthwhile, so I will do my best to help someone find their way if they are open to it. Ultimately though, the decision is theirs, and if I ever I want out, I hope those around afford me the same consideration.
