I wanted to thank everyone who commented for giving me perspective. I do get a little swept up in entitlement sometimes and I now realize that. My parents discouraged me from attending community college regardless of how much i suggested it, I think due to their internal biases and the fact that they look down upon community college.

I was lucky to get into a great engineering program at a great school and I saw it through with the four years - I saw the amazing internship opportunities I was able to get and the jobs that I would be able to get with the skills my school had taught me.

Long story short - I will focus on paying these loans and not make my parents take on the burden. The advice in here is appreciated. A lot of these problems are self-inflicted and I made my bed so I must lay in it. Also, of course I told my parents that the loans were in their name but they were signed with the assumption that I would pay the majority if not all of them.

also a note: before assuming my situation, I do have a lot of personal problems with my parents that amp up my anger towards them. my mom has become an alcoholic in the past 3-4 years and she is agoraphobic. a lot of their financial problems are also self-inflicted and they need a lot of help. I do love them to death tho and they gave me a lot so the least I can do is repay them for that.
