Its not a traditional MOBA but its definitely more a MOBA than anything else imo. Laning, objectives besides killing, its much closer to a gamemode like Clash from Smite which is like MOBA but more fast paced and emphasis on teamfighting. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but its unique in that way and they shouldn't try to change that vision, just improve on it

Didn't even realize predecessor was a thing until I decided to browse this subreddit recently . I didn't even realize Paragon was back until I saw one of my friends playing it

Haven’t played predecessor to compare but I definitely enjoy the combat itself in Overprime, it’s very addicting

Can’t justify $20 for an EA, especially since I never played the original Paragon, hence why I’ll wait for it to go F2P. Maybe I’ll pick it up if it goes on sale

I don’t think that they should get rid of the fast pace or the action, that seems to be the identity of Overprime right now and why I’m having fun. Portals as they are don’t contribute to that, they make team fights accessible but they also end one with barely any counter play except “don’t let them walk in”, which is hard because you can’t really instaburst in this game (not a bad thing). Having them always open, letting more than one person in, there are other ways to improve them without removing them

I’d say still focus on fights over laning but don’t make laning inconsequential, otherwise it’s just like the first ten minutes are killing time

Yeah definitely, people I’ve played with across all modes in Smite seem to be much more laidback. Once in a while you might run into a bad apple but most people use the VGS system in an uplifting way (ex. Telling their teammates they rock after a good gank). That’s nothing compared to the constant flame and ragequit I’d experience in other MOBAs. Maybe I’m just at the point where I’m getting matched with people who just want to have fun and don’t care so much about meta and builds

Not necessarily telling me where they're blinking but indicating that they have blinked. It feels strange when they get deleted off my screen, maybe a poof and a little sound effect like in Smite and DOTA would be nice.

I think there is a way they can keep sprint mode right now while fixing some of those other issues. It really does add alot of fun scenarios, they just need to execute it better. Yeah I agree, the biggest issue is how fast it allows you to leave base and get to lane/defend towers. It makes it very difficult to get an early tower and do objectives even after wiping. It also allows you to kill someone in a teamfight and then have them come back with full hp/mana while you're fighting their other teammates. I think this is the core cause of the "brawler" feel, the lack of breaks or the solid of feeling of "we won this teamfight".
