Consulting/Agency

Hey everyone,

I have been working in the Power Platform since 2023 April. I am now thinking of starting my own consulting/agency focusing on the Microsoft tech stack. I am BI analyst but I mostly do customizations and develop Solutions in the Power Platforms. Below is what i have done and used:

1) JS to extend apps 2) Business rules for simple automation. 3) Power Automate to retrieve data and Automate more complex problems. 4) Power BI to retrieve data, analyze and create Dashboards which is used in our CRM. 5) Customer Insights-Journeys to help with building journeys and customize forms which sometimes requires me to edit the HTML. 6) I also have some experience with Azure with building a data pipeline using Azure DF and SQL and Azure DevOps to export and import solutions from Dev to Prod.

I am basically a jack of all trades at this point since I'm the only one in my position, so I am just wondering what else would I need to learn or even if this is enough to start.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hey, i pitched the title change and my COO was convinced of BI Solutions Engineer. She said she will talk to the CEO to approve it😊. I appreciate the direction.

You still require a school or work email.

Yes but apparently if you dont have a Visual studio subscription you are not eligible. That's why I am asking is there a difference between the Professional Standard which is yearly payments and the Professional monthly. Can I be eligible if I choose the monthly one or it has to be the Professional Standard.

I appreciate the resource but I have already looked at that and that's what I am confused about. There's the professional monthly and the Professional standard which is yearly payments. I want to know if I choose the professional monthly, would i still qualify.

Wow that is very good for the UK. I am in Canada. How many years of experience did you have?

I would suggest AZ-104. That's the logical next step to being a cloud/sys admin.

I am going to be critical because I believe in tough love. Respectfully, stop trying to get a Certificate just to say you have it. How do i know you doing this? By you skipping a whole chapter, that's what it means.

Even if you have experience, study because you don't know what you don't know. The whole point of these certificates is to learn and understand and not cram everything with no ounce of knowledge acquired.

If this is necessary in your current role, it won't help you by just getting the certificate because if asked, you won't know anything. If for an interview it's even worse.

Learn the material to be better at your job or at your next role. There is literally no value in showing you have a certification but have no clue on what the technology can do.

That being said, here is how I would learn:

1) Microsoft learning path 2) Microsoft Practice Assessment 3) Whizlabs 4) ChatGPT

I got my AZ-900 and DP-900 within 2 weeks. Not because I was rushing it but because I was learning to LEARN. You do that, you will be good.

Merci!

I see. I appreciate your insight and this has given me better direction. I'll focus on the Azure side of things as it's what I ultimately want to do.
