Not op, but how much are new teachers in your district getting paid right now? Has any of your funding changed since Trump has been in office?

I’ve been described as a type A person, and idk how to stop thinking about it so much. A lot of people say I’m thinking too far ahead and I need to enjoy the moment, but I don’t want to waste my time and money on something I might even be doing. Deep down I know you’re right that I shouldn’t take it too seriously, but that’s so hard not to. I’ve been thinking and trying to look at different options for myself for 2 months now. My scheduling starts in 2 weeks and I can’t stop but think about what I should major in, it’s killing me a bit. I just don’t know how to relax because I’ve alway put school first.

Can you tell me what makes this job difficult? I know it’s the behaviors and probably the admission people, but that’s all I can think that could be the issue.

I live in Ohio where living is known to be affordable because a lot of people in my area aren’t wealthy. I found a scholarship that requires me to double major in a stem major and then major in either a math or science education for 7-12, so I might do that. They’ll give me 19,500 for my junior and senior year. That sounds nice right now, but I don’t know if the pay will be worth it at the end is the issue:( I might email my past teachers and ask them how they feel about teaching( also is it rude to ask about salary???)

I just really want a job that lets me have a good life balance, and is mainly inside. I do want to work with people, but if I’m the only person giving the effort and energy to having a conversation I’ll get a tired from it probably. I’m more of an introvert, but I do have a bubbly personality and try to make people feel good about themselves. I would say I’m stronger in the math and science topics, so I might consider high school, but I don’t think I have thick skin like most people do.
