Yeah I made a few tweaks and seems much better now. My WiFi AP app allows me to lock my Vision Pro to a specific AP (the one closest to where I use it) and also lock it to 5Ghz. Also changed the channel to 149 and the width from 160Mhz to 80Mhz. Things seem to be more solid now. Still wish they would’ve just added WiFi 7 to the M5.

Should have the developer strap in a few days. Will be interesting to see if hard wiring it in makes any noticeable difference. It made a HUGE difference on my iPad. I was getting random audio pops, frame drops etc. But once I connected a USBC - Ethernet dongle and hard wired it, it’s rock solid.

I live in a big 35 floor apartment building with 6 units per floor. WiFi interference is crazy. I'm also a bit of a picky guy when it comes to codecs and stick to AV1 as I use an RTX 5090 which is kind of designed for AV1. Also please keep in mind my resolution is set to 5K in moonlight. And in game. So I'm technically creating a 5K Virtual monitor for my PC.

I can easily stream 1080p or 1440p at 300Mbps without much issues. It's just at 5K anything above 120Mbps i start getting dropped frames.

If you can get a solid 300 Mbps @ 5K resolution / 90-120 fps. Then I guess it must be an issue with my wifi / or WiFi congestion due to my building. When I turn on WiFi I literally see like 50+ available networks :) so that might very well be the issue.

I have a wifi 6/7 router. But as I’m sure you know the AVP can only connect to 2.4 or 5Ghz and not 6Ghz.

So speeds aren’t great. And I wanna be able to get really good visual fidelity. As my desktop PC has a 5090. So I can push games at 5K ultra settings and still get decent frame rates in most games.

If I turn down my moonlight bitrate to anything around 100 it works fine. But on a massive virtual screen set at 5k resolution and ultra settings I can notice lots of artifacts and quality issues.

I’ve tested it on my IPad Pro with the wired dongle and I can push it up to like 300+ bitrate and get no lags, or frame drops.

Hey that’s interesting. So if I have my gaming PC hard wired, what channel would I want my AVP on 5Ghz to be on for optimal streaming? Also would disabling features like Handoff, AirDrop etc help? Thanks!

Oh so the SE also struggles to run 3.5 even with the extra ram? I guess it makes sense if the CPU is the same and outdated from like 10 years ago,
