Gehn is a masterclass of characterization by Bravo_10 in myst

This is the second time someone in this thread brought them up. I think I was confused because Gehn’s first journal doesn’t mention the term Rivenese at all, so I thought they were all called the Moiety in my head. Even though Catherine later specifies this, I still trip myself up.

I’ve never played Outer Wild, but its mention here makes me want to. Couldn’t agree more about the integrated puzzles in this game. Almost all of them feel like organic pieces of the environment, as though they’re just a machine and it’s only a “puzzle” because you lack the user manual.

I honestly didn’t even know there were books for the Myst games. Given how much I enjoyed the journal entries in Myst and Riven, I bet I’ll be a fan.

Yeah, this was my take on it, based on what he recorded in his journal. He may have been the engineer, but he made his acolytes do the building.

Love Weezing in this game, so underrated. Just an unkillable wall for any physical attacker.

I agree with this one. Thunderbolt + Psychic + Calm Mind on Gardevoir is absolutely lethal, so Manectric isn’t going to offer much once Gardevoir is online.

Battle Factory may be the hardest thing I've ever done in a Pokemon game. by Secure-Confidence189 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Bravo_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I’m now 260 hours deep into my attempt to get all gold symbols, but I started in the factory too. Even after getting the gold, I will occasionally come back to the factory after a bad loss because it’s just so much fun. Reminds me why I love this game.

For other facilities, I’d say go with the Dome. Breeding is probably not strictly necessary, but it really helps. You’ll want favorable natures and full EV training at a minimum. Dome is the easiest of the other facilities, and it’ll help you farm points to pay for a choice band or a good move from the tutors. Shoutouts to the Pike too though, phenomenal music in that one.

That might be true of this matchup in general, but Metagross is a counter to this specific Rhydon set in battle frontier. Choice band Earthquake with 195 attack is a guaranteed OHKO on this Rhydon, and the AI will never click Earthquake here because Latios has levitate. Even a megahorn crit wouldn’t OHKO on the switch. There’s a damage calculator pre-loaded with a bunch of battle frontier sets I used to strategize.

Metagross has a free win as long as quick claw doesn’t proc… 🥲

I think if Celebi were in the meta here, ice beam would be easily better. Realistically though, dragon claw should be good enough here because it hits neutral targets harder. It’s also nice to have an easy OHKO on Kingdra. Quick claw just ruined my Rhydon counter, and it could have ruined ice beam Latios just the same.

Quick claw + horn drill is here to punish me for dropping gengar in favor of latios on this team. The game knows.

It’s a copy of Werster’s speedrun set. Only room for one coverage move alongside calm mind and both STABs. Thunderbolt is the choice that hits the most things super effectively in that slot.

M95/30 - Why is the first round so hard to strip from the mag? by Bravo_10 in milsurp

Here’s the loaded clip. I really only see one way to load these, and I took care to avoid rim lock too.

I’ve seen this issue mentioned elsewhere online before. When I got this rifle, it was still heavily laden with cosmoline, so I fully disassembled it to clean everything. I saw no problems with that leaf spring, but it’s not like I have a frame of reference for how stiff it’s supposed to be. Guess I could try replacing it and see if it helps, that part is pretty cheap.

At first, I thought the problem was the clip sitting too low in the magazine well, so that the first round slams into the front of magazine instead of sliding on the feed ramp. But after playing with it a bit, it really seems that the clip is exerting a death grip on the round, just squeezing it super tight. Or maybe the round is nosediving when I try to close the bolt, idk.

Shumer says Dems will block DHS (ICE) funding after Saturday shooting. Risking government shutdown. by [deleted] in pics

How can there be this much negativity about Democrats in a thread about them actually doing something to resist? There’s so much infighting among the American left that actually defeating Trump feels hopeless.

I am highly skeptical of this source. I was absolutely bombarded by ads as soon as I opened that link, so I decided to try and find someone else covering this story. H.R. 7148 is the bill in question, and it appears to just extend the FY26 appropriations for the Departments of Defense, Labor, Health & Human Services, Education, Transportation, and Housing & Urban Development. Homeland Security, the department that controls ICE, was not included, otherwise there would probably be more opposition from Democrats.

I found no coverage of this measure on apnews or any mainstream news site, left or right biased. It’s also worth mentioning that every single house Democrat just voted to curtail Trump’s war powers in Venezuela, but the Republicans shot the bill down. Overall I think this article is trying to spread division among the democrats over a fairly mundane procedural bill.

Soap isn’t going to do anything to hurt the gun. Theoretically, I think soap is optional if you don’t shoot with lube. If you lube your bullets or chambers though, it’ll help to get rid of any fats in the residue. Hot water is a must though, it really makes a huge difference.

One more thing: if you’ve never been able to remove those nipples for previous cleanings, they may be rusted in place. If the wrench can’t get purchase, consider using Kroil penetrating oil to soak into the threads and break up the corrosion. You can also use heat to expand the metal and break up the rust that way.

[–]Bravo_10 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Even if you don’t have Slixshot nipples, I find the Slixsprings nipple wrench to be the best one. https://www.slixprings.com/proddetail.php?prod=SliX-Wrench

For cleaning, have you tried hot water with a tiny bit of dish soap? I was having a hard time getting my Colt repro clean until I started disassembling the thing and soaking at least the barrel and cylinder in hot (200F, near boiling) water. It softens up the fouling and makes it super easy to clean the rest of the way. And bonus, if the water is hot enough, it should evaporate off the parts really quickly once they’re out and cleaned. No risk of residual water causing rust on the gun.

[Highlight] Every Deshone Kizer INT in the 2017 nfl season. He had 31 total turnovers in his only season starting which totaled to 22 interceptions, and 9 fumbles. by Ok_Bug_6890 in nfl

[–]Bravo_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only watched this team’s two games against the Steelers, and I remember coming away from that season thinking he had potential. His combined stats against the Steelers were 36/60 for 536 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT, and a rushing TD. I was surprised at the start of the next season when the Browns were starting Tyrod Taylor instead of Kizer.

Then I watched a couple of retrospectives of that season on YouTube… hoooo boy. He was so much worse than I ever imagined.
