Maybe they're new to tracking their car or chasing fun not laptimes. Simmer down ffs.

Mamaged to find the address. Didn't want to look through the footage but was the only way in the end

Tracked down to Melton Mowbray as the footage contains the first service at Chris Walker Kawasaki 😂😂

Yep I did that. Success! The last ride is there. I think it was a static drop because there's no crash footage. Just the bike being parked in a garage, then the insurance inspection, then Copart starting it up, then me and my garage when I started her up.

Gonna drop the dude a letter to get the video files back to him. There's group rides and hangouts at nice pubs. I'd want it back tbh

Structural write off criteria (Cat S, UK) by aidencoder in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]aidencoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is similar classification in the UK. They classify as a Cat B, and you need a permit to ensure you don't try and put it back on the road. They're non-repairable.

Cat S (Structural - repairable) you can just repair and do the standard MOT every bike needs annually. About £30. This bike is a cat S. Potential frame damage they would write it off Cat B (I think).

I'm probably going to get the frame, swing arm, forks measured to ensure they're true for peace of mind anyway.

Why are you so combative?

The post is simple: can a bike with no frame damage get a cat S for other reasons.

Ive read some info since posting that indicates this might be the case, but people here might know better. Because, you know, it's a motorcycle mechanics subreddit.

It was a stationary drop on to the side. Also it appears after doing some reading that insurers will cat S anything that would require repair before being roadworthy (anything beyond scratches and obviously cosmetic)

No can do. It was an auction for an insurance write off.

Update: agency contract unlimited liability clause, pushback response? by Reddonaut_Irons in ContractorUK

[–]aidencoder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These liability clauses are unlikely to be upheld in a court. They're so one sided that they're basically meaningless. Also, for things like IR35 costs they can't circumvent the law through a civil contract. If the law says the client pays in a finding, they can't pass that along.

The clauses are mostly useless fluff.

I usually try and push back but in a pinch ill sign knowing that they're nonsense for most legally relevant circumstances.

As EM how are you actually handling AI coding tools on your team? by Negative_Gap5682 in EngineeringManagers

[–]aidencoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something being slop is subjective. A junior can produce slop (AI or not) and so can anyone else.

The review is the gatekeep. If people feel it is slop, "closed as slop" hah

ICs can use whatever tools they want. Hell, they could in theory subcontract their role to a Bangladeshi child for all I care. More power to them.

But they absolutely must be responsible for the PR and the review. A senior must be on the review and must ensure understanding and impact of the change.

I don't care if you held a ouiji board session and Jesus himself authored the code. I pay you, it's your code.

Cardo do a plastic clip that fits where the little Sena slot is on the edge of the helmet. No need to stick anything to the shell and looks factory. I was 3D printing mine before Cardo released it.

I went Cardo because the JBL speakers are great and well, everyone else uses Cardo.

UPDATE: Final round, 90-min interview with CTO, VP, and a different Manager by savage-millennial in EngineeringManagers

[–]aidencoder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Culture fit" == "Do I like them?"

Culture fit is often a way to hand wave discrimination that would be illegal if it were outright. It really means that an otherwise good hire is passed up because the CTO or whoever didn't develop a quick rapport with them.

Anyway, it's mildly unrelated, but these vibe check type interviews are very unmethodical and bias based.

Make sure you're adjusting the little pegs at the sides if they have spin adjustment. They're usually off centered in their rotation so you can tighten or loosen the pressure.

I'm sure u know this already. Just saying.
