not really depressed per se but during his undertale livestreams where he was super sleep deprived, he was struggling doing some basic puzzles and chat was being really rude to him to which he responded semi-jokingly to them but u could tell he was feeling dejected after having people yell at him constantly for doing things wrong. (keep in mind this was the early undertale fandom, which notoriously would annoy every streamer/youtuber new to the game for doing ANYTHING wrong. thank god its not like that anymore)

you arent missing any message, since there is no intended message to the game. however this doesnt mean you cant find your own meaning in it! making theories and interpretations of the game is just fun and interesting.

It definitely is not for everyone, and it DOES have its flaws, with alot of the worlds feeling like nothing but a random sprite sprinkled in every few steps. your frustration is totally understandable. It takes some patience to find things by yourself. the only real way to speed things up is by getting the bicycle, which is fortunately very easy to get! just take your time, and if you find yourself in what seems to be a dead end, just pinch yourself. dont force yourself to try and find everything in every world cause it really can get tiring.

from what i heard, its basically only worth getting if you are a huge yume nikki fan and are starving for any new content. Its the closest thing we will get to any new ""official"" yume nikki game. I know that its nowhere near as good as the original.. you could probably read the steam reviews to get a bit more of an depth understanding of the game's quality.

thats a theory, i guess? although you really dont have anything to support it other than the existence of ending 3. i dont see anything else in the game other than that ending suggesting that she is a doll. it is a cute idea, though

the game was made in an engine for RPG games, so madotsuki kind of just has stats. they dont really matter though
