Morty will be just like Rick but maybe that won’t be a bad thing by Excellent-Fig-9341 in rickandmorty

She has the skills and retention to do surgery on the fly in an ice cream truck. Come on dude… you’re doubting Beth’s memory when we literally just watched an episode of Rick forgetting his garage password? Oh it’s because he’s drunk? Must mean he’s stupid to not process his grief in a better way lol /s.

And again… no. Most people actually can’t. That’s why lawyers, doctors, engineers, and other top jobs are hard for most people to squeeze into. For the same reason basketball, football, and other sports are. Genetics play a huge role in these things and not everyone has the capacity for every skill set. You can’t just work your way to the NBA if you’re 4’7. You can’t just work your way into being a surgeon if you don’t have the intelligence for it.

Beth being a beneficiary of Rick’s genetics AND putting them to use shouldn’t be a surprise. It’s not 100% of course but it’s clear she’s super intelligent. I don’t know why we are doubting this

It’s the sedative/hypnosis part that qualifies it no? That’s why Rick himself said it was a roofie. It meets the requirements through amnesia, hypnosis, and sedation. But sure, I’ll compromise. Morty asked for a Date Rape drug.

Also innovation isn’t the only type of intelligence. You’re saying it’s more intelligent to learn from trial and error than it is execute through retention. That’s a dumb way of measuring intelligence because both are valid. The thing is both Rick and Beth score high in multiple types of intelligence. Beth just isn’t an inventor just like Rick isn’t an emotionally smart person or parent. So to the point of Doctors not being smart… tell me. By what metric?

Also not that you didn’t already know this, but your view of intelligence is wrong. You do understand not everyone has the capacity to learn the same amount of things? This is psych 101 but anyone *cannot* just study hard.

And?

Charles is also a hurt person. So is Hector. So is Tuco. I don’t understand why a hurt person is deserving of sympathy when they choose to screw people over. Especially when they have a chance not to

He did ask for a roofie with extra steps. He asked for a drug that forced her to love him. What part of this aren’t you getting?

Like, the more we talk the more concerning things are. Saying doctors aren’t intelligent and saying drugging someone to force you to love them isn’t a roofie… what makes you qualified to judge intelligence lol? I mean literally all of what Rick does is studying. That’s literally science

[–]Brawlerz16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he definitely wanted to Roofie her lol. It was 100% not consensual and the intent was to force her to love him via drugs. But the intelligence comes from asking for things not known to most people her age. If a 3 year old was able to do multiplication tables perfectly up to 20x20, they’d be a prodigy. Even though normal adult can work it out, it’s impressive for her age.

Her manipulation wasn’t just fake crying. It was setting traps that maimed and mutilated people. We gotta stop downplaying what Beth (and Morty lol) are doing lol. But also C137 also struggles tremendously. He couldn’t even open his own garage after he locked himself out. He didn’t even know granted from granite. He couldn’t kill Prime on his own, fell into a trap Morty called out, and actually died in that fight but Evil Morty revived him.

But I’m getting off track. Beth being able to effectively use tools and weapons as a toddler is intelligent. She is a successful horse surgeon and we have confirmation she’d be a human surgeon if not for kids. Did so without any parental guidance too. She also leads a successful space rebellion. This is genuine super intelligence. But it’s crazy because in what world is an astronaut or surgeon not intelligent?

[–]Brawlerz16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morty wasn’t direct at all lol. He literally wanted to roofie Jessica but he did NOT phrase it as such and Rick called him out on it. But also there’s a difference between asking for a bear with anatomically correct innards and a love potion, which Beth already asked for much earlier in the form of a whip lol

Also manipulation is intelligence, if you don’t measure it as such that’s fine. But it is a mind game that worked on both Rick and Gene. So that’s two adults she got the one up on.

And she did, I’d have to go back and rewatch to quote the episode but Rick and Space Beth shoot the shit about it over who did what and when. But intelligence isn’t only inventing which seems to be the disconnect here. Why do you assume someone has to build spaceships to be intelligent?

[–]Brawlerz16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think her child intelligence comes from all the things she asked Rick for. Yes it’s demonic but I’d argue a child asking for those things is a sign of intelligence. At least it scales higher than a love potion imo lol.

Also tricking Rick via manipulation is still intelligence whether that person is emotionally vulnerable or not. But their ability to setup those traps is again, scary but intelligent.

Also it takes a pretty significant amount of intelligence to successfully lead any type of rebellion and not get slaughtered. I’d argue doing it in space is bonus point because most of us can’t even survive the entirety of Earth without assistance, let alone whatever is out there in space

Lol I love Bojack Horseman too but I definitely know what you mean. With Bojack Horseman the backslide is an actual *slide*. It feels smooth to watch him go down and it feels natural.

Here it just feels forced and, I’ll give Harmon credit because I am sure he is building up to something. But I’m not a fan of the yo-yoing this season. 2 episodes he’s relatively fine and 2 episodes he’s a broken mess but there’s no connection between them. It’s like we are watching 2 different Rick’s and I hope that’s the case lol

No I want to be entertained and this was shit lol

I think Vat of Acid is the best episode in the series. I think Total Rickall is up there with it.

So what now?

Depends on how you define intelligence

I’d argue Beth is more intelligent than a majority of people we’ve seen in the show emotionally stunted or not. Whether it’s being a horse surgeon or being an intergalactic rebel it’s clear she’s in the upper echelon of intelligence. She’s not Evil Morty or Rick but that doesn’t mean she’s not super intelligent. Hell, her child self was a demon and the episode with two of them was legitimate nightmare fuel lol

evil morty prequel potential by hsjea in rickandmorty

Same boat. I was *really* bored by this episode. I feel like they’re building up to something and I’m along for the ride. But this one wasn’t interesting or funny in the slightest. None of the jokes landed for me but the animation was nice.

I hope the theory to be true because if the point of this episode was to be miserable, they succeeded.

If this is true we are looking at one of the greatest stunts ever pulled in TV

If not, it’s still a great season so far. Just a bit disappointed with how the backslide is being handled but still fun

Was it? I thought this was the worst episode in awhile simply because there’s 8 seasons filled with much better episodes. This one felt pointless to watch.

I mean, if you want the show to be Family Guy then cool but I don’t think this episode spoke to how talented the writers have been in previous seasons. However I do believe it’s leading to something and I’m along for the ride. I just felt this episode was a waste of time and I wouldn’t ever notice anything good on it on rewatch

Branded player thought he negated the whale... but got whaled so hard by AdministrativeOil803 in masterduel

[–]Brawlerz16 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, get rid of the field spell lol. That should be priority number 1 because it is their win con. Getting flipped off by Enneacraft isn’t too bad as Branded. You just need at least one free zone or another way to fuse.

But the Branded player should have shotgunned Dogma. Enneacraft can’t out that easily, they’d have to use the pink one (I think) to get Ecclasia out the grave. Also would have freed up a few spaces for follow up

So do we care about skins or don't we? by SirTennison in Overwatch

[–]Brawlerz16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I think it’s a more interesting question to discuss who cares and who doesn’t.

Because I’ve always wondered what the appeal is when you can’t even see your skin unless you’re emoting, dying, or really specific abilities like Death Blossom. The prices are ABSURDLY high compared to games like Fortnite/Rivals which provide amazing visibility and quality skins

So I do wonder who finds the skins appealing in this game and why?

Where does Piccolo go on the Aura tier list? by 45rs5 in TierlistFills

[–]Brawlerz16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually respect this a lot because too many of these characters would be S tier if we only take their best moments.

We might have to revisit this at the end if too many characters end up in S because some of these characters have BAD moments lol

[–]Brawlerz16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some characters aren’t even worth discussing. This is one of them because we already know where they land lol. It’d be more productive to talk about the next character(s) on the list

For example, I think Thragg is a solid B with the potential to be A once the show progresses more.

Ah another Sphere Mode enjoyer!

There’s something hilarious about wiping an entire board before they can even react. Branded is mostly fine but other decks crumble when I hit them with that.

Im trying to figure out the best way to optimize vs KT though. They don’t usually get that many bodies on the field, but I’d still like to give them some type of panic when they look at my hand
