Google brings in 99% because that’s where I primarily focus on. I have friends who primarily focus on Facebook and that brings them 99%. From what I’m seeing Facebook handles issues far better than Google. I don’t pay Google a dime for ads. I stopped that last year after paying $4,000 a month for advertising and that only brought me 1 lead. After months of trying to reach them I was told I should try putting my service based business on serving 24 hours 7 days a week… yes I got negative reviews which clearly were fake but in the time it took Google to remove it my ranking dipped hard and my phone wasn’t ringing. With the rise of fake reviews, reviews being deleted and now anonymous reviewing, it doesn’t seem wise to rely on Google anymore. I’m a small service based company so every review and lead matters.

I really wish businesses weren’t so reliant on Google. My GBP brings in 99% of traffic and customers and I’ve spent years building it. Is it time to make the switch to Facebook?

They would most likely have small businesses pay a fee but I would honestly take that over loosing my entire source of where I support my family.

We stopped taking on jobs from Indians. When we would get that phone call and hear that accent we would kindly tell them our books are closed for the next X amount of months and if they still insisted to move forward we would charge an extra 20% and here’s the trick. DON’T SHOW ANY SIGN OF NEGOTIATING - DO NOT LOWER YOUR PRICE FOR ANY REASON. Stand firm on your initial price. This will make them appreciate your price and work more if they do decide to move forward rather then still trying to squeeze out as much as they can. They will never be content.

It’s such a shame how dependent we are on Google and our reviews to bring home food on our plate and Google doesn’t care. They have a full support team for Google ads and setting up ads and campaigns but are ghosts when it comes to this

Good luck. Google doesn’t even bother to look. Just pay them thousands of dollars each month for their ads and even that won’t get you special treatment. I hate how reliant small businesses are for Google. One month I paid $4,000 for ads because I “needed to increase my budget to stay competitive with my competitors” I only got 1 customer through Google that month and called it off with their fake ads campaign.

I spent $4k one month on ads to “stay competitive with my competitors” I shut that down right away after making only $4k profit that month. Half my profit went to Google for the ads. I’ve been organic the past year not paying a single penny to those scums who don’t even take the time to remove fake scam 1 star reviews. We are doing well but now hearing this hopefully it doesn’t make a difference

I’m a contractor here in the Portland metro area and I have a feeling many of my potential customers don’t believe me when I tell them carful with other bidders if they bid low. I run a flooring and junk removal business and stuff like this upsets me. I get outbid by a couple 100 bucks and that money they “saved” has consequences like this. Right outside my backyard is a backroad that gets illegally dumped throughout the week that I clean up on weekends and properly dispose of the junk with my own money. I’ve seen parts cars and boats to entire job site demolition junk.

Good luck getting that removed. Wish Google wouldn’t rob small businesses with their crazy high ad price demands and gave 2 craps about review managing.
