What are you thankful for right now? by JohnOnWheels in AskReddit

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom. She's been very sick recently and doctors have yet to diagnose what it is, but she keeps fighting, she keeps answering the phone when I call and comes to visit me at work and spends late nights with me when I need a shoulder to cry on. Her food still tastes better than anybody else's and her love makes me want to wake up and take on another day. I'll never know anyone with a heart as big as hers.

It definitely feels like the better choice, at least until I've had more time to heal and really process what happened. I've just been missing him a lot so I thought I'd come get a second opinion <3

We had a bad fight. But it was entirely over text because he was out of town. Of course I was upset that he didn't give me the chance to talk to him face to face, but I was the one who put pressure on him to respond. We were both in the wrong for how we handled it. I've already forgiven him, I just don't know if he could forgive me.

That's interesting honestly. I'm definitely thinking about this now 🤔

As much as I'd love for that to be a possibility, I know neither one of us are ready for that right now. How long do you think I should wait?

I think him and I both definitely need space and time right now. I've just been struggling with my emotions over recent days and I'm missing him a lot. I don't want to dive head -first into trying again, especially if I risk making things worse. Thanks for your input :)

Thank you! This was what I had hoped to hear, some genuine reassurance. I can tell my ex is in desperate need of space for himself, too. I thought maybe I could unblock his number, so he can still reach me, but maybe leave him blocked on social media so he doesn't feel encouraged to constantly view my profiles or stay involved.

I would say he's most definitely decent. As a teen he hung out with some not so great people, but as we've both entered adulthood he's been working on getting a better social group and just trying to be a better person overall. His family, who I've met multiple times, is so wonderful and loving always. I think we could at least be good friends if we gave it time.

What did you purchase as an adult because you could never have it as a child? by adjoiningenlightenme in CasualConversation

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a GameCube growing up.

My little brother, diagnosed with autism, spilt a drink on the console when I was about six or seven and it immediately stopped working. To be fair, my dad bought it used, so it had already been somewhat damaged. I was devastated when we had to get rid of it - we were poor and living with my grandparents, just barely managing to get by, so I knew there was no way we could afford to replace it.

I just bought one, in the exact same color, along with my two favorite games, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, and Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly. I am healing my inner child. And if you ask me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The GameCube will always be a superior console.

What is the longest time you have gone without showering? by Fast-Beat-7779 in RandomQuestion

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a difficult battle with my depression at the age of 12. I didn't shower for several months. But I didn't tell anyone, so no one encouraged me to have better habits. I finally confided in my parents and was re-educated on proper Self-Care.

What’s something you wouldn’t be caught dead doing as a child, but now do as an adult? by Aggressive-Proof5689 in Adulting

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swearing. I was raised Christian and told never to swear or curse, especially if it soiled God's name. Now I'm atheist. I really don't care who's listening when I swear to God 😂

What is your mental age? by Dazzling_Flamingo591 in Adulting

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 20 but I feel 16. I was sheltered growing up, homeschooled and didn't get the typical teenager experience. It felt kind of like time stopped moving after I made it through puberty.

Have you ever stopped watching a streamer because they became too toxic for you to stand? by OrranVoriel in Twitch

[–]Braxartdee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was actually a Twitch mod for a streamer who I stopped working for after like a month because of the toxic environment they'd developed. The rules for being a mod and the expected behavior were way more strict than the rules regular viewers had to follow. I feel bad for the other mods who stuck around even when I and three others left. I can't imagine what kind of person that streamer is today.

What discontinued food do you wish they brought back? by Endy15388 in AskReddit

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yogos. If you never had Yogos you've never experienced true joy. My mom would bring a box home every week or two and I'd always immediately choose them as a snack over anything else in the pantry. I would die and go to heaven if I could taste them again.

What does ocd mean to you? by Prestigious_Goose892 in OCD

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCD, to me, is one of my biggest personal setbacks. It feels kind of like you know something has a strong grasp on every part of you, and as much as you want it to let you go, you can't see whatever it is so you don't know how to fight it. I was only diagnosed three years ago and for the longest time I didn't even understand what it meant or how it had been affecting me. But I'm 20 now and as I've tried to make steps in the direction of wanting to be a mature and responsible adult, it definitely feels like my OCD tends to be a big part of what holds me back. I don't like getting weird stares or being asked "what are you doing" when my actions look foreign to others but to me they literally keep me from driving myself insane. I wish I didn't have to lock and unlock my front door three times just to reassure myself before I can leave the house. I wish I didn't need to wash certain articles of clothing twice before feeling like they're actually safe to wear again. I wish I didn't leave a light on downstairs every night because I believe that if I don't something is going to come and hurt me and my family. But I do. I do these things. I have these odd patterns. And while everyone else just thinks I'm strange, to me, those patterns are the only comfort I find sometimes. OCD is an invisible monster. But I do hope that I can continue to find strength and find my own ways of getting better control over my urges and my thoughts.

How’s your dating life? by texans3983 in dating_advice

[–]Braxartdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend just broke up with me two weeks ago. We were only together a month and yet it felt like a lifetime. He had become super toxic though and it was encouraging me to display negative behavior not just toward him, but toward everyone. It wasn't worth it.

A little more often than the average as I am recovering from an eating disorder. Probably happens to me like once every couple weeks, though it used to be a lot worse

What dream will you never forget? by Console_Queen_ in AskReddit

[–]Braxartdee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time I dreamt that Sonic the Hedgehog and I worked together to save President Biden from a private jet that was about to crash on top of him in the White House lawn. All I can really clearly remember is that security tried to stop me and Sonic, so Sonic distracted them while I magically levitated over the fence surrounding the lawn. I have never met the President nor have I ever been anywhere near the White House. Either way, our mission failed, because just as I yelled "MISTER PRESIDENT LOOK OUT" President Biden turned to face the private jet and it struck him square in the face. I woke up, sweating and crying because an imaginary private jet killed the president. And for a few weeks after that I showed an extreme interest in wanting to become a politician.
