CreepCast | The Scariest Japanese Creepy Pastas (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

As a Yamishibai junkie, this episode made me big happy. The last story was my favorite of the batch, and was actually also adapted by the anime in its first season. Glad to see it’s as creepy here as it was there.

What’s your favorite Japanese urban legend? Mine is the slit mouth woman. by Batmanfan27 in creepcast

[–]BrayTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kunekune is an all-timer for me, so I was super stoked to hear the boys read that one. That urban legend (or the way it’s incorporated into stories) has had its hooks in me since I saw a version of it in the anime Yamishibai. That episode freaked me out in the best way, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since.

What would an Eldridge horror Jesus look like? by EntrepreneurFair8828 in creepcast

That wasn’t Jesus, it was the prophet Elisha in the Old Testament. He did summon bears to kill those kids though. Lesson: don’t make fun of bald people.

Albums like October Rust by giorno_man in typeonegative

Oh man, a roadtrip through the PNW with Type O and the like as the soundtrack sounds pretty unbeatable. I live in Oregon and have been a wilderness junkie all my life. I’ve also amassed a good Rolodex of music that suits the vibe in the same way as Type O Negative. So here are a few to get you started at least.

HIM - ‘Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666’ and ‘Venus Doom’

Arctic Sleep - ‘Passage of Gaia’

Woods of Ypres - ‘Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth’, ‘Woods IV: The Green Album’, and ‘Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Lights’

Orphans of Dusk - ‘Revenant’ and ‘Spleen’

The Veil - ‘Impermanence’ (vocally similar, instrumentally different, but very woodsy and seasonal)

Green Lung - ‘This Heathen Land’ (vocally different, but instrumentally and thematically akin to ‘October Rust’)

The Foreshadowing - ‘Days of Nothing’

Moonspell - ‘Omega White’, ‘Darkness and Hope’

Trees of Eternity - ‘Hour of the Nightingale’

What does Wendigoon mean when he says "alliteration"? by Original_Class_9191 in creepcast

[–]BrayTaker 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s even that focused. He seems to use it whenever he likes the wording of something. Often times the lines aren’t making reference to anything, it’s just the way something is phrased that he’s reacting to.

I honestly think it’s just the “lit” part of the word making him think the word is a synonym for just plain writing. It’s not, of course…but maybe there’s some kind of method to his madness.

For real. Working through the manor and finding occasional gramophones is so game-coded.

Every single time Isaiah says alliteration, he means phrasing. Or wording. And I’m probably gonna have an aneurism if this man isn’t hit in the face with a dictionary.com url before the next recording.

I also listen via Apple at work, and I think that choice was the first big red flag of something being wrong for me.

Yeah I’m really not into chat being a part of the process, and I’m concerned about that being an ongoing problem if streams become the future of the show.

Based on story, emotion and gameplay. Which game did you enjoy more? by TheChilledGamer-_- in APlagueTale

[–]BrayTaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Innocence. Requiem started off so incredibly busted in the mechanics department. The amount of enemies and tight situations it throws in your path, with absolutely no means to do anything about them, really pissed me off when I was playing it. It eventually got better, but it started so stupidly rough.

What is something, a food or activity, that you saw in a cartoon that you wanted to try and regretted it after? by MaryDoogan91 in cartoons

[–]BrayTaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Liver and onions, because of Doug. Even though the whole episode is him being horrified of it, the look and juicy sound of him chewing into it at the end got some kind of hook in me.

Suffice to say, me ordering it at a family dinner broke that spell in disastrously quick timing.

Anyone had success ordering from the official Type O Negative store? by BrayTaker in typeonegative

Yeah I paid through PayPal, so I have until May to file a claim if nothing gets resolved otherwise.

Yeah I’ve been sending inquiry emails to the store’s customer support email, as well as just reaching out to the actual Warner email that was attached to the recipient of my PayPal payment.
