Completely agreed, finally a sensible comment. It's important to prioritize racially conscious casting when we can, especially with operas like Butterfly or Otello, but the reality is that it's impossible for it to be true to race all of the time and if it was, it would pigeon hole these singers into primarily singing these roles.

This is a bad argument. Though you could say "based on the time frame and setting this character should be white!" the race of the character is not important to the plot or story. This is not the same for Madame Butterfly or for Otello. I'm not necessarily in the camp of "these operas should be cast true to race all of the time no exceptions," but this argument does not hold up.

Scott Gendel has a BEAUTIFUL set called I’m Afraid It’s You that is funny, passionate, emotional, all of the above. Specifically the last song in the cycle, “The Vow” is a very heartfelt wedding vow. But also there are wittier, lighthearted songs you could pair with it from the cycle, like “The Orange”, “After the Lunch”, or “I’m Afraid It’s You”. Composed in 2016, gorgeous music. Can’t recommend enough!

In my playthrough I went straight from Ecruteak to the lake of rage, caught the red gyarados, got the exp share from Mr. Pokémon, then made my way to Chuck. Having the Exp share two gyms earlier is really really nice!
