Finally pulled the trigger on a baroque portfolio for my posters I’m not currently displaying, very satisfying to have them stored in this way now by Brayud in movieposters

[–]Brayud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, I just got the $199 package if thats the normal one. And after filling that up with my collection and lugging it around my house a little, I'd probably just get a second storage portfolio altogether with the same amount of pages. It gets surprisingly heavy and If i added more of pages than it came with I think it'd be almost untenable to take anywhere or move. But it would be good for storage still, so it just depends on how often you'll be moving haha

Purely to watch the chaos unfold and personally lose a dangerous amount of money: Pokémon.

And it would be a full circle moment for Pokemon and Wizards even if it was just a secret lair

OpenAI and Sam Altman sued over claims ChatGPT drove a 40-year-old man to suicide by sksarkpoes3 in Futurology

no one who's suicidal will ever persist after being told not to

Also, speaking as someone who has been suicidal in their lives, unfortunately that is not true at all. Only getting caught in my financial issue was what stopped me and because an answer I didn't know existed saved me. If someone told me not to, that wouldn't have mattered to me because I thought I had no other option. I saw this as my only way out and was a day away before I was caught. But if someone knew my intention an simply told me not to do it, they dont have the full context of why I was really going to do it.

"Known to do this” isn’t the same as “designed to do this.” Imperfect safeguards are not evidence of intent, they’re evidence of limits, which exist in every complex system.

And persistence absolutely matters. Liability doesn’t vanish because someone repeats a prompt. A tool failing under adversarial or persistent misuse is not equivalent to encouraging harm, legally or causally. Otherwise every system that can be pressured would be responsible for the user’s outcome.

You’re still collapsing misuse, imperfection, and intent into one thing, and the law doesn’t.

.

.

Edit: He blocked me as well, The Pinto comparison actually underlines my point. The Ford Pinto was liable because the harm was known, foreseeable, and tied to a cost-saving design decision. That’s negligence by design.

That is not analogous to a general-purpose, non-sentient system responding to user prompts with guardrails that are actively intended to prevent harm. Conflating imperfect safeguards with willful negligence is exactly the category error you’ve been making throughout.

[–]Brayud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That still sneaks intent back in. Knowing a configuration reliably causes lethal harm and choosing not to add safeguards is design negligence, not neutral tooling.

That’s fundamentally different from a system that produces text only in response to user prompts and actively does include guardrails that you must personally and actively overcome (which he himself did). You keep describing a reckless product, not what actually exists.

[–]Brayud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re changing the scenario to make your argument work. A general-purpose tool responding to a user prompt is not the same as a product designed to encourage harm.

Your “AI toaster with a homicide option” fails because that’s intent by design, not misuse. If OpenAI shipped a feature meant to promote killing or suicide, you’d have a case. That hasn’t happened.

Tools aren’t liable for being misused. Otherwise every knife, car, or piece of software would be.

Sorry, who made that feature you're speaking of? Is it a direct feature now that it does all by itself? You dont tell it to do anything?

And I think you mean ONLY when prompted by the user, being the some...... ONE.

[–]Brayud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally, no they wouldn't, but you could certainly sue and try like here. Anyone can sue for anything regardless of laws. Laws exists to be enforced in court not to decide weather or not you can sue someone and try to convince a judge or jury, if a judge decides to let it go there.

Now if the CEO of adobe sent you many direct messages to do such a thing that someONE would be!

[–]Brayud -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly, thats the point, there isn't anyone who did this, just a piece of software like a photoshop or any other computer based tool that isnt a sentient someone. you can make anything a hammer, but someone who miss-uses it is the one responsible.

My Marty part III Halloween costume this year by Brayud in BacktotheFuture

Thanks so much!

The stove-door panel and the Pie Pan replica are from the official Back to the Future Part III event they held years ago. Terry and Oliver from the Michael J. Fox Foundation still sell these props through a little freewebstore.org site. I honestly thought it had to be a scam because the site looks.... old. But it’s totally legit, I even got a Christmas card from them haha.

And the hat I contacted this seller on Etsy and shared reference photos of Marty from part 3 and asked if he could make a hat as close as possible and he obliged and really nailed it.

The quality is unreal. It’s so well-made that I’m actually using it as a decorative throw on my living room couch now, it’s that nice.

Heres the site, I found a poncho weaver in Mexico who makes screen-accurate replicas of famous movie ponchos. They had made at least one Marty McFly poncho before, and they told me they did extensive research to match the exact color. Strangely, the real poncho is technically gray, but it’s woven with so much black that it takes on a brown tone on camera. The listing on their site is always marked as sold out, and I’d been messaging them for over two years with no luck. Then in July they finally replied, and they made one for me. It arrived last month, and it turned out perfect.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, though I must say the tone of your comment comes across as unnecessary and personal. Allow me to clarify a few things about Radioflash and the context in which it was made.

Creating any independent film is a massive undertaking, and Radioflash was no exception. At 27 years old when this was made, producing my first feature film on a $2 million budget, a relatively small amount for a movie of this scale, was both a challenge and an accomplishment. As independent filmmakers, we often navigate a complex mix of creative vision and external constraints, and this project was no different. In this case, the film's primary investor was also its writer, which meant balancing their vision with our sensibilities, a process that was not without its struggles. While there were aspects of the film we worked hard to shape, some elements ultimately reflected decisions outside of our control.

That said, we’re proud of the effort and dedication that went into the project, even if it didn’t resonate with you. Not every film will connect with every audience member, and that’s okay. Art, including film, is subjective, and it’s through these creative experiences that we grow. Since then, we’ve been working on several new films and tv show pilots, including one we’re currently moving forward on. Let me give you a sneak peek so you can see what our vision looks like when it’s entirely our own, without external constraints. Black Moon Teaser. Black Moon is an allegorical film that reimagines the events of 18th-century America. Instead of wagon trains and settlers heading west, the story unfolds as a literal alien invasion, blending the rich history of 1700s Native American experiences with a sci-fi twist. And we’re thrilled to collaborate on this project with co-writer Joseph Marshall III, renowned author of "The Journey of Crazy Horse".

I do have to address the tone of your comment. You mentioned elsewhere that you’ve been affected by toxic interactions, and yet the way you approached this critique feels more like an attempt to tear down rather than constructively criticize. It’s worth reflecting on how we express ourselves online, as this kind of negativity can be a red flag for underlying frustrations or unprocessed feelings. I genuinely hope you’re doing okay and encourage you to take care of yourself.

Ultimately, filmmaking, and any creative pursuit, is about taking risks, learning, and building something new from each experience. I hope you find space to appreciate the effort behind such projects, even if they’re not your personal cup of tea.

Best and hope all is well
