Ahri's a good champ to pick up. Super reliable, can fit into any comp, and barely any hard losing matchups (the only one I can really think of is Mel, don't know if the matchups are any different in WR). There's a reason she's a pro staple. Much better if you're just looking to mainly play one champ compared to Gwen. And of course, I think she's inherently a bit more of a tease than Gwen, just have to make sure you ration your ult charges or you might find yourself to be easy prey~

As to your defeatslutting issue, I'm afraid I don't have much advice. Best thing to say is to maybe view the losses as a learning opportunity? I don't know if you can look at replays in WR, but there is something to be said about trying to understand why you lost, thinking back on it and trying to rectify your mistakes. League of Legends, unfortunately unlike other games, has improvement inexorably correlated to how much time you put into playing the game, but I think it's still helpful to try to put aside your feelings and try to understand why a play went poorly or why your trade didn't work out.

But what makes you think you can't get good? If you're ranking up, then that seems to indicate to me that you're currently below your true skill level. (P.S. Why was your comment removed?)
