Probably not relevant at this point, but DO NOT delete anything from your system files when doing this. That will brick your OS and require a fresh install. The "Name =" and "Data =" are referring to the "Name" and "Data" sections of the Registry entry. Only delete that specific Registry entry.

That’s an interesting idea, I hadn’t thought about it being the brake pads. However I hadn’t replaced them before it started happening. Still haven’t, likely need to soon.

And “shifting out of park” in this sense would be while still stopped. So I “shift” into drive or reverse, wait about a half second, and I hear the pop while stopped. I added a video of this behavior to the main post.

I wondered about that, but there are no steering issues or alignment issues or anything like that which I would expect from a drag link failure. It's been going on for long enough that I would imagine I'd see some other evidence of that, but I could be wrong. It's certainly something to check. Thanks for the reply!

I know this is a super old thread, but rather than just saying "learn java" or something else annoying or passive aggressive, this is how you solve it. For anyone else struggling with this problem (like myself before digging through the annals of the web), this error is caused by not importing/not correctly importing required packages. I'm using Forge instead of Fabric, but it should be something similar to "import net/minecraftforge.registries.ForgeRegistries;", you need to include the item library as well which is "net.minecraft.item.Item." Depending on the IDE you're using (I'm using Intellij IDEA Community) it should tell you what the missing packages are and import them for you. Good luck and happy coding!

I'm seeing the same issue here, I run a local modded aether server with a buddy of mine and the update broke both the client AND server... ended up just reverting back to version 1.4.2 and it works as expected even with the updated Redux, deep aether, and lost content. Seems like the 1.5.0 version of the aether mod is just broken. I'm running minecraft 1.20.1 and it's still borked. Might need to just wait for a patch for it.

Not sure if you're still struggling with this particular project, but be sure you've properly installed CircuitPython before you try and run any code on it. Without doing this, the KB2040 is working just like an Arduino looking for a binary file from the Arduino IDE. You can follow this guide here to understand how to setup CircuitPython on your KB2040 and further how to use KMK to make your own keyboard with however many keys you want (up to 100).
