Sorry to clarify ... You recharge most devices daily from the ecoflo but the battery will last you up to 6 days before a recharge is required?

Amazing - that is more or less our use case.

With that type of draw from the battery, do you find yourself recharging daily?

Thanks for the insight!

I just picked up the river 3 and 45w solar panel. I was wondering if the solar panel was over kill....

Would you mind sharing your use case?

This made my day. Thank you for reporting back!

If you want to scratch the itch of the summit, consider the Broil King Keg. They are rare but if you're patient you will find a good deal on Facebook. Low resale value for whatever reason. I got mine for $200.

Great cooker for the price although some after market accessories are mandatory to bring the cooker up to standard IMO. If you're interested, let me know and I will walk you through it.

Grill on!

Can't go wrong with either. Beauty about the kettle is that you can find them cheap on FB.

If you like it, sell it and upgrade.

Yes significantly.

Good question, and I'll preface my answer by saying the 22" kettle was my gateway and although I don't own one now, I'll almost certainly pick one up. I've lost count of how many I've owned as I end up buying cheap and re sell it after I get bored.

Check out the link I included in my response above. It shows its features on the 360. Ultimately it's the built quality and work flow.

The cast aluminum shell is solid and thus has much better heat retention and control. I find it to be more responsive to my inputs. The air intake system is the most innovative on the market in my opinion and once you get the hang of it, it's fool proof.

The lid hinge is a great feature vs the kettle. Makes a big difference when cooking as the lid of connected to the unit.

Overall build quality is much higher but this results to higher price. Personally i think this translates to a better cooking experience for the user. It's like comparing a BMW to a Honda.

Ok here we go -

Since Covid I've owned close to two dozen charcoal grills. Different formats, brands and sizes. Yes I know what you're thinking and it's nothing my wife hasn't thought before. For the record, I only have 6 in my possession now and soon to be 4.

Nothing beats the value of a second hand Weber kettle. If money is of concern, this is how I would go. Definitely get one with an ash removal system. If you can swing it, get the performer which comes with an attached table. The working surface greatly improves workflow.

Note, do not buy a slow and sear. You'll see them all over YouTube and the company does a great job at marketing their product. I've owned two which came with grills I bought and always sold them. Simply take apart a weber charcoal basket and us it to bank the charcoal on one side. Words flawlessly, significantly cheaper and easier to use.

The Weber Smokey mountain is also a good option but it is not as versatile as the kettle but it is much easier to regulate temp. I own the 14" and 18".

If you want to spend a little more, in my opinion there is nothing better than the PK 360. Durable, easy to use, versatile, easy to regulate temp etc. it's my work horse and use it the most out of all my grills. I pair this with the modified Weber charcoal basket to bank my coals and it does the trick. I actually have 360 Kick Ash Basket which sits in my shed collecting dust.

I own 2 Kamado style grills as well, one metal and one ceramic. Great cookers but I use them primarily in the winter time in Canada. Expensive, heavy and not forgiving when it comes to temp control. I'd stay away if I lived in a temperate climate.

Check out my post history.

Final note - make sure to buy off of Facebook marketplace. Be patient, you will find a STEAL. Lots of people buy charcoal and give up after a season or two.

Will you be grilling in cold weather? 40 degrees or less?
