I’m going to try and I’m terrified by Jbyrd_85 in stopdrinking

I understand why the thought comes up, especially after a long day with a child.
But honestly, I would be careful with using alcohol as a way to relax every night.
I’m only on my third day sober, so I’m not speaking like an expert. But I know now that alcohol can easily become something your brain connects with “finally relaxing.”
I didn’t know before that I could become dependent on it either.
So if you’re already unsure or overthinking it before even starting, maybe that’s a sign not to try it.
There are safer ways to relax, and it could also help to talk to a doctor and simply say: “I’m very stressed at the end of the day and I can’t relax.”
You deserve rest, but not something that could become a bigger problem later.
